Whats been the most disappointing game to you?

Iwould have to agree, stalker is a truly great game and its getting even better with several major additions apparantly coming soon.
Armed assault was frustrating at first but it gets better with each patch (the MP is fantastic).

Games that really disappointed me are:-
Unreal 2 This game was Hyped to the last and in the end was as boring as hell (although it had the best rocket launcher ever IMO).
Quake 4 all i can say about this is "It was'nt really written with consoles in mind, was it?". :rolleyes:

Another STALKER fan here. Maybe because I was playing Oblivion beforehand put me in the right mindset. Stopped playing it until patch 1.0004 is released and im too scared to complete my current mission :eek: :eek:

None of the games below are BAD games, some of them are even quite good - however all of them we're not as good as we thought they'd be or just didn't come anywhere near the hype.

Deus Ex Invisible War:
Not bad, but light years away form the first. A tragic causalty of the xbox's world takeover effort. Probably our finest trilogy ruined by MS.

Half-life 2:
While a fine game in it's own right, and technically impressive, I personally didn't like the direction the story went. Weird and confusing plot, irritating charactors, overuse of novelty weapons, too many large dull areas and sequences.
A well produced and directed game that just didn't suit my personal tastes.
It's worth noting that Steam made this a sour experiance. Took 4 hrs to install on lanch day, and had lots of issues.

Doom3:
A million miles away from it's daddy and grandaddy. It's alright, but it ain't Doom, nothing like it.

Unreal2:
Looked nice, didn't feel quite right. A bit clumsy.

STALKER:
Would actually be quite good if it wern't for the respawning and general lack of balance. Getting into it now, but the beginning was poor. Feels very incomplete.

Quake4:
The apple's fallen very far from the tree. Too many clichés. Supermarket game design.


All but one of the above are sequels. Wish publishers would go for originality instead of rehashing the same old thing.

Supreme Commander.

Loved TA, played it for years, was very excited when SupCom was on the way, watched it develop, all the trailers, etc. etc.

When the demo came I out I was massivly underwhelmed... after all the buildup and interviews and stuff that was promised.

Tried the full game when that came out to see if the demo didn't do it justice... got bored within a couple of hours. Never looked at it since.
 
Oblivion - Was really looking forward to this but was totally disappointed with the combat, leveling system, way you use items and pretty much everything else. I cant actually think about anything I liked about it. Maybe I got caught up with all the hype.
 
Im gonna give stalker another go tonight and get past the 1st level see if it gets better.

Half-life 2 & ep 1 are my favourite games of all time, how can some of u people not like it ? lol? cant wait for the next ep!

Aint a Pulsar a GTiR? not a GTI? :p

Does anyone like DiRT? no not that kind.. ;) The Colin McRae variety? I've not had a chance to try it with a FF wheel yet. The rallying side of it looks a lil bit suspect. Not quite at 'Richard Burns Rally' level/standard for handling it seems. The graphics in DiRT are pretty good though

Yeah i pretty much agree with all of those, especially UT 2k4, UT is FAR superior.
