What's the opposite to an electric blanket?

Cold water bottles.
In hot weather I fill a couple of large plastic drink bottles with water and put them in the freezer. At bedtime I take the bottles, which now contain ice and wrap them in a towel and put them in the bed

Go out and get yourself some Heat-be-gone Bootees (as seen on TV)

Off topic, I but I was having a think about electric blankets. I've done some work with process heat tracing and it seems to me that electronic blankets should use a self regulating type element, well insulated and incorporating an RCD for additional safety.
Would minimise the risk of fire and shocks, but the temperature would not be variable, even if you added more elements (as it would just self regulate).
Folding wouldn't cause hot spots, it would remain a uniform temperature.

At a guess I presume they're actually just made with a well insulated fixed resistance element, prehaps multiple elements for a form of temperature control. Probably no RCD.

I can understand this as i have a real problem. I get servere heat flashes and tend to blackout. I sleep on my bed with window open and the doors to a fridgefreezer pointing at me and i still overheat. Could be 0 degrees in my room and id still be too hot. I cant even eat or drink anything hot/warm b4 i start to sweat profusely. Docs r a joke. They said its psychological which is a load off crap. They just dont know or cba! All those taking the mick just dont understand. Not looking forward to summer as im already having prpblems. And its getting worse. What am i supposed to do. Live in an ice bath! Any help. Anybody.

Weird first post.

Sounds like a great substitute for the wife

can you add a sound module to make it snore as well?

Do you have any open wounds? If you accelerate a bacterial infection you could enjoy most nights "freezing" your ass off from a sepsis fever :D

Have you tried finding a computer overclocking enthusiast forum? I'd recommend regerstering for one of those, and finding a 7 year old thread on the topic and bumping it.

And what is wrong with that? That's a very bad attitude to take, unhelpful and also detrimental to the longevity of these forums.

He's obviously found it via googling an issue he also has, signed up to participate and request advice.

If you do feel the need to be sarcastic perhaps you could also provide assistance to ensure a nice welcome is received.

I've used my cats cooling mat before when I lived at my mum's. The bedroom faced the east so it would be hot all the time. The mat worked a treat :D

Stop using a freezer for a start, that'll be producing more heat than it seemingly gets rid of.

@DemonCrow My wife struggles with being really hot in the night. Last year was the last straw for me with my wife either having two fans running, attempting to blow a cross breeze through our bedroom and ensuite (noisy, with little effect most nights and keeps me up) or having a portable AC unit next to me blowing out the window which was so loud it kept me up each night it was on. I decided to opt for a split AC system! If your over heating is bothering you that much, I would 100% recommend it and you can use it all year round to remove humidity from the room which should help you feel cooler. It can also be used to heat the room.

We have a new build house that even in this reasonably mild weather, warms up and stays warm. The top floor has silly small windows that open that restrict any breeze unless there is a gail going on outside. My hay fever really suffers too if I have the windows open at night.

Here is a picture to the internal unit inside my bedroom. It connected (via copper pipes, a condense line and a power cable) to an external unit that removes the heat from the room. It runs silently on the low fan speed mode I have it on and it cools our room to 22c no issues (which feels cold due to reduces humidity). It can be set to 16c if required.
