whats your job ?

Took the comment on board last night about posting up here :D

I'm thankful we didn't all start going into great depth about our jobs!

Yeah I tried to avoid that! If I start trying to explain what I do past the most basic level it tends to get a tad boring :D

Interesting read, a lot of clever people in here, I'm too ashamed to say mine :o, fairly menial job though, not really capable of much more than that tbh.

Rubbish, I've been reading your posts for years and would never regard you as being any less 'clever' than everyone else! Top chap from what I read! Never be ashamed of these things. :)

Im a mechanical CNC engineer making gaskets for the oil, gas and water industries.

Pretty rewarding and i run some pretty impressive machinery!

Working to tolerances as small as a thou which can be hard at times, especially if im running a lousy machine!

I really enjoy it though and i should be qualifying very soon as my apprenticeship folder is out for external verifying so exciting times, pays very well too!

Design Co-Ordinator for a company that designs licensed clothing (Nintendo, Sega, DC etc). I design a little but I'm more on the licensing side of things.

Job title is a Media Production Specialist, basically look after digital media management workflows to work out the best way of going from cinema release to physical release as well as setting up encoding specs for broadcasters and video on demand services including iTunes, Google Play, Netflix and Lovefilm.

there is no job that you should be ashamed of.

Wise words indeed. :)

I currently working for Tesco and have been for almost fours years. Previously I worked for Sky Broadband as a member of their CST (Tier 3) technical support team. I recently dropped out of Tesco's "options" (graduate) scheme and am happily working as a FLT driver in their warehouse which is a switch off do your job and go home at the end of your shift sort of job. :D

I've no real stress any more and my biggest day to day challenge is ensuring I don't run over any of our Eastern European work colleagues who seem to have no concept what so ever of health and safety. On the plus side I'm now considering making a move to part time work and taking up a home study course. :)
