Thats absolutely miles off the figures you'd expect from the stats :(

I push on, but nothing silly and most the time I am in cruise at motorway speeds. I don't try to manage my fuel consumption, I simply get in and drive and based on real world that's about where it sits. Not as good as I expected, but better than 20mpg-24mpg

I'm averaged 8.9 kpl (21.0 mpg) over the first 2,000km with MINI Cooper S Auto. Pretty low compared to the advertised figures (26-34mpg) but it's all city driving and lots of stop/start traffic.

About 33 regardless of how I drive or what I do. 33 on the tank on a steady cruise from Norwich to Bristol, 33 on a B road.

Not sure If I like that or not :p

after doing almost 2000miles in 11 days, i started driving boring motorway sections at much slower speeds to save fuel. So Mansfield down to the M25 Via the M1 i managed 47mpg, this was 55-65mph the whole way plus a few parts of around 20-40mph while passing two massive wide loads that caused big tail backs. Once on the M25 that went out the window due to people hogging lanes 2-3 and 4, making smooth driving almost impossible. No one can drive down here it seems.

Not sure what "Road trip" will say about the mpg though, yet to go to the station and ive done some town driving since. :(

ha, just worked out my mk1 mx-5 and was 33.06 for my last tank, I was driving like a granny though!

Usually works out to be about 24-26mpg when driving to school as I am usually late!

between 41-50 doesn't matter if its around town or motorway, worked out manually from miles on the clock to the litres used for a top up of the tank.

wow that 118i is amazing!

here's my contribution lol:

hehe, I was 20 and it was my first car. (10/11 years ago)
I'm sure you've posted a few things about your previous Rovers which you cringe at now.

Even Fox thought a Citroen Xantia was awesome back then

Nah - I still look back with fond memories of that car. It was geniunely fast

Managed to get 24.5mpg out of my first full tank in my 180bhp 1.8T 20V Seat Leon - that's mainly urban driving with a lot of traffic. It's not a great figure but it's better than the 18-20mpg I got out of my Impreza in similar conditions.

Average about 22-23 mpg but that's mainly because the vast majority of my driving is on freeways, if I was driving around town every day it'd probably be 14-15 or something daft :p
6-7 months or so on, I gave up recording fuel on an app when I realised that my onboard mpg sensor was giving exactly the same numbers so just take it off that now (as it should be really as it takes the fuel use from the injectors and mileage should be accurate too ofc) - average is currently sitting on 23mpg still - exciting development or what!

It's just called MPGCalc on Iphone. Costs 69P.

I see that you are still using non super unleaded ;)

Nope, still using Super Unleaded. Have done so for the past 10-15 tanks.

I have just started to fill up on Sainsbury's SU, as it's quite a bit cheaper than V Power. And the primary use of my fuel to is ferry me to work and the gf's. For when I am going for a blast in countryside I will use a tank of V Power :D.

Glad you saw the error of your ways! :D

I consistently get worse mpg on super unleaded than normal 95 RON and thats on a 2.0TFSI VAG lump which makes no sense. Ive tried alternating tanks and running several tanks in a row and every time SUL drops me a couple of MPG.

I barely notice a great difference. But having said that I have had my best fuel figures to date using super unleaded. And probably placebo, but the accelerator response is smoother and more responsive...

My main reason behind using it now, is that the vast majority swear by it being good and recommended for the car. I see no great gains in power at all (unless the vehicle has been re-mapped to the specific fuel), and the MPG gains are also minimal, so it's not a cost saving exercise.

Peace of mind, and feeling good that you are putting "good stuff" into the engine is my main reasons...
