What's your take on bidets/bum sprays?

Not weird at all, wish more places had them. After using one for a few years it doesn't feel right taking a dump and not having access to one.

Wouldn't do without one.
Bidet then a square of TP to pat excess moisture. You wouldn't just wipe **** of your hands would you with paper? Don't ask why you would have **** on your hands lol

100% with you and it was around 20 years ago reading about the toilet habits of Pakistani friends that I changed the way I did it.
I can't imagine wiping my bum with just paper so I now finish with liguid soap on toilet paper and feel refreshed (it used to be flushable wet wipes for years).
If I'm out and need to go I will get some paper and put water on it otherwise I feel dirty.
 
Since we're talking about it...

If you got some dog **** on your hand would you wipe if off with some tissue and call it done?

I think the whole TP thing is inadequate and while I don't have a bidet I do a "squat shower", dry off with the underwear I've just taken off, last once over with a wet wipe and new underwear. Wash hands and gone.

The golden rule in British culture is that if it's not part of our culture then it's wrong. Ironic as it may be, there's apparently no point in trying to understand it when you can use it as another reason to laugh at stupid foreigners.
 
All this talk of feeling refreshed after a dump makes me think there is a great tried and tested advertising strategy for bidets. Post-bidet use, the protagonists of the television commercial would play tennis and change into the whitest of white trousers before going out and generally having a great time with the girls without a care in the world.
 
For all those somewhat disgusted by not using one, what the hell do you do at work or in other public places?

Also to the guy who wipes dry with pants and puts new pants on what would you do if you had craps with a stomach bug and went like 12 times a day?

I’ve never used one. Part of me thinks they’re a good idea, I get the pros but part of me actually finds sharing a water nozzle that sits super close to someone’s bum spraying and bouncing poo matter around the bowl and tap somewhat unhygienic.
