When are you going fully electric?

When’s you next car due?

Both are excellent cars but the waitlist for the Tycan is reportedly well over a year and while the i4 better in that regard, I don’t think it’s that much better.
 
I’ve totally left it too late as car is due back January, but short term solutions can be found easily if I’m not too fussy.

I preferably want to go electric but most are uninspiring, and I do have a preference for coupes.

i4 is 44 weeks. A friend has one on order since March I think. which keeps getting pushed back (M50)
 
Everything is so long term :cry:

Client of ours is a leasing business so worst case scenario I just see what return stocks they have for 3-6 months rental. Or if I’m lucky can extend lease on current car. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of Teslas or not, I really should do a visit to my local showroom, but I keep putting it off.
 
Yeh, the interior is marmite and will not be as plush as the Beamer but you can actually obtain one in a reasonable amount of time.

The boot is huge but it’s a saloon rather than a hatch which could be a problem.

It’s certainly worth a test drive either way.

Just caught a YouTube review of one and it seems to still pack up nicely. Ta
There are a few 3kW 13A chargers too. Ideal if you trust the wiring for a 30% faster charger.
 
Standard U.K. wiring/3 pin plugs are not rated for a 13A continuous load.

Do not do what is suggested above, there is a reason why all the granny chargers are 10A.
 
Hence I said if wiring up to it. For example a 4mm on a dedicated circuit to an external wall plug, companies are selling them as 13A chargers. So not all are 10A


 
If you are planning to get a commando socket for a non-tethered 7KW /32A charger, later, can you get one with an adjustable 10A->32A range ,
and just use it in the 10A mode with a 3pin adapter until then ... and save forking out for two charge leads.

Sdk had discussed charging his ev from solar/battery where 6A option could give future proofing if the invertor is low powered.
 
yes, so you just make up an extension lead with a 13pin plug to a female blue commando and you can legitimately feed 10A to a 10A-32A charger.

No darling, you buy it like that - already wired commando. Of course if you want your house to look like a campsite pitch.

Has anyone enquired about wait times for the I.D Buzz?

Quite interested in one of these as the next family run around, similar space and practicality as a Model X but half the price. I realise they aren't really comparable cars but space wise similar.

Speaking to my local dealer about one at the moment but he isn't sure of availability yet.

lol they usually have a proprietary intermediate connector and charge(e: monetarily) a lot more

e-hev is an interesting design if you are a fan of engineering .. not like toyota 'hybrid' with elliptical gears etc. but more of a range extender strategy

I don’t think it’s on sale yet, it’s also seems very expensive for what it is.

Edit: VW website suggests it is so I’d go via that.
