When are you going fully electric?

9000 miles in. Average 3.3m/kWh Great car to do everything like the commute. Plenty of room in back seats etc. 230mile range in this weather.

And it feels like a really quiet and smooth normal car. Especially after coming out of a model 3.

Not sure you can charge it much with that cable...

Had this car for 2 weeks now. It's rather nice albeit too small but it's a work car and no other complaints yet.

Depends where you are going to power it from, if it needs to go through a letterbox then it's worth investing in a longer cable if you need to purchase one anyway (so you don't end up with an extension hanging out the letterbox then IP rated cover for the granny charger plug) . Otherwise there are a few from the likes of Screwfix that are reasonably priced and reviewed

Hello folks - after some real world views on option (only really one currently!) for new company car. We have to have plugin electrification as main rule now so that limits us to PHEV or full BEV. Unfortunately they've not increased our lease budget anyway near inline with with the market so I'm struggling on options :(

As caveat - I can get free charge at work - so swinging towards BEV for obvious reasons!

PHEV - only real option with 8% BIK rate is BMW X1, probably a bit small - 2 kids + a large labradoodle

BEV - I'm working on them / our purchasing and looking for options, but Model Y / BMW i4 seems 5 to 10% over on lease and I don't think I can close gap. That's leaving I think best option as Enyaq Coupe 80iv - just base spec LOFT one. SUV would be better for "space" - but unfortunately I guess the residuals must be worse as lease costs are higher. So sorry a bit of pre-amble above - but after anyones real views on the Enyaq? My thoughts - "bit bland" in that spec / seems "slow" for elec - certainly compared to those previous options? But actual tech / spec level seems decent with "Clever pack" (which I can top up to get) / it seems to have have loads of space / big boot / etc and good range. Any views on it - sell it to me? Saw the V-RS a page or so back - but obviously opposite end of the Enyaq range :)

ps - I work for automotive supplier, and we can only get cars for "who we supply to" so Kia / Hyundai off list

We're in a similar scenario and after going to sit in all the options we narrowed it down to a Q8 or an Enyak. The Enyak was very nice. Super comfortable in the front and back, range and efficiency seem top draw too. The thing that ruled it out for us was that the version available on the lease deal special offers had cloth seats and interior, which wouldn't work for us.

So we've gone for the Q8, where, even the base spec is pretty well equipped.

Ah yes remember reading your posts - not sure how you can get a Q8 at similar costs - for us a Q4 is about 100 a month more than the enyaq! Would be same issue with cloth seats and kids, unless I pony up for upgrade - but hopefully they are hard wearing, currently got an L200 Series 6 pickup - again BIK fiddle :) - it's got Alcantarra seats which I thought would be a nightmare, but they've faired surprisingly well actually!

The luck of the special deals page. I guess they've got an over supply they need to shift.

The Enyak interior felt a lot higher end than the VW or the Q4. The cloth was nice too, just not suitable for dogs and kids covered in mud.

Out of all the non-premium cars it stood out quite a bit above the competition. I also liked that the loft model came with massive tyres.

Cheers, appreciate the feedback - we're forced to go through a couple of "lease companies" who I don't think give good deals - it's jsut set prices and don't get the "spot specials" - I'm trying to get them to speak directly to Tesla who have deals on Model Y at the moment and slahsed prices

There are two scenarios with Tesla prices, the current prices will only stand to the end of the month and will the go back up again. Or they’ll fire sale what’s left so they can start taking orders for refreshed cars due this year.

Pretty much a roll of the dice as it’s not clear when the refreshed cars will start rolling off the production line.

A Model Y would have been our preferred car. However, they only had deals on standard range cars, and as efficient as they are - the 80kw of the Enyak or the 95kw of the Q8 made the 60kw battery of the Tesla rather out classed - considering the Tesla cost more to lease.

Much better car the Q8.

Indeed, the thing is people project what they want on to what everyone else needs. I will not have a Tesla about me, terrible cars with poor suspension, utterly bland boring styling. Also the fact they only work with OPD is a deal breaker for me. I personally want a good car that happens to be electric and super charger network, efficiency and infrastructure don't matter to me.

For others the EV parts and tech that Tesla excel at are key and I understand that.

My main worry with the Q8 is the efficiency. Considering I'm just under 4m/kwh lifetime efficiency in the Nissan - getting nearer to 2.5 in the Audi is going to be a bit depressing. Plus it'll be the wife mostly driving it - and she's got no idea how to drive an EV efficiently.

Tesla is a nice newbuild i think, clean, open space. Doesn't have the charm of an older house with 'legacy' features such as fireplaces or sash windows but seems with EV everyone is obsessing with the EPC rating and not the character of the vehicles. Just need to manage expectations. I also am sure the Tesla 'consumption' is somewhat fudged compared to how other cars display raw energy use.
