Cities of gold! It got really weird towards the end from I can remember, not sure if they were aliens or some weird mutant humans that lived in the city they found.

I'm so old that there was no tv to watch - used to listen to radio for entertainment. Well, partly old but mainly that south africa only got tv in 1976, and that was 2 hours a day.
