When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Hope tsmc hasn't let them out of contract for the capacity.

We could do with an oversupply of graphics cards.
From listening to last weeks LTT podcast they've not let them off, they've said if they can find someone to take the over capacity they're fine with that but like Linus said there's probably no companies that would take it due to them all being in the same boat (or something like that) (Link to YouTube vid)

Looks like mainly a US price reduction though, probably won't hit us in the UK as much as it will over there.

Nope it is U.K. too and as actioned by OcUK start of week, first in U.K. to do so and hence 3090Ti is now £1499 down from £1799

3090 is £1299 down from £1499-£1599

3080 12G also down to £799

Been waiting too long, not buying until I see what the 40 series are like. If things go bananas again I’ll just wait some more. But I get the impression it’s not going to be as bad this time.

I've held on and not treated myself to anything yet, but have purchased a few cards recently for family. I've been watching the prices tumble almost daily and have seen a few 3070's under £499, so getting there. I'm holding on for a decent deal on 6700 XT or 3070 and this will do me for awhile.

Jay says to buy now.
Personally i think he's wrong, obviously none of us are fortune tellers so we can't know what's going to happen so maybe with hind-site he'll turn out to be right.

My own feeling is that Nvidia/AMD will price next gen low or maybe even lower than current gen due to having bought all that fab capacity and demand having fallen recently, i also think we'll see current gen prices continue to fall all the way up to the release of next gen.

I've waited more than two years to buy a new GPU so another 3-4 months is nothing so like others I'll be waiting for next-gen unless current gen halves in price.

From current gen I'd buy a 6700xt for <500€ or a 6700 non xt nof <450€, everything else is either too expensive or going to be obsolete too soon for my tastes.

6700 XT isn't a worthwhile upgrade from a 2070.

To spend half a G on a GPU upgrade, it needs to double performance, which is what a 3080 gives me over a 2070.

I'm sorry, I wasn't replying to you directly although I agree it would be a pretty limited upgrade.

In my case I'm waiting for the chance of doing a full upgrade (currently i7-3770k and RX590) without having to spend twice my monthly salary (which an equivalent of my original configuration tier at the time would cost) so that card tier makes sense to me.

I'm on a 5820k/32gb/2070.

Good value upgrades are hard to come by! The 2070 I got for free as a 5 years of service award from work, it replaced a GTX 970. The cpu/mobo/mem is what, 8 years old now? I'm still GPU limited in most things. Now that was a good value buy!

I've been looking at a 12400f bundle for a while now that is the first CPU upgrade that really appeals from a value perspective. Same cores, 60-70% perf per core, and much lower power usage, 400 quid for the upgrade still though.

 All I got was a mug.

What was the original RRP for the RTX 3070 ?

I've been waiting months for the prices to return to a "sensible" level & now it's time to decide on whether to wait for the RTX 4070 or snag a 3070 :(
