When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

The investor call would be interesting if they delay launching new stuff (that has a good chance of selling) because they can't sell their old stuff.

"Our solution for not being able to sell stuff is to hold back stuff that would sell."

-Even better if AMD launches RDNA3 while Nvidia implements their no-sales strategy.

Even better if AMD challenges the raster performance while better power delivery and catches up somewhat on ray tracing. You will soon see nvidia pulling out all the stops to make that smear campaign next level.

I've no regrets with my Powercolor 6700 non xt for £350, A nice little undervolt and the GPU is putting out 2750mhz and 2150mhz on the Samsung memory. Temp is 60 degrees for the GPU and 55 degrees for the Memory junction, Hot spot is 80 degrees, A good replacement for my Vega56 (Undervolted i got 1700mhz on the GPU and 950mhz on the Samsung HBM2 Memory with a 75 degree hotspot) I only do driving sims AC, ACC and AMS2 plus MSFS, Not bothered about Ray tracing etc, I should get a few good years out of this card. I see they have now dropped to £330! I think they are a great bang for buck at this price, £40 cheaper than what i paid for my Powercolor Vega56 Red dragon 4 years ago!

Their hard limit is whenever AMD launches. Nvidia will want to laucnh before AMD because they will not want to see AMD being on the top of the leaderboard, as it takes away from their brand image and means they are dancing to AMDs tune.

I'm sure AMD would quite like it if NVIDIA went first so they get a free chance to revise pricing.

In all honesty with the recent drops I've been tempted to think about buying as looks like some good deals. Then I realise we've all been brainwashed for 2 years, the price has been messed up and therefore these aren't really good deals it's just we've been staring a the rip off proces so long it's twisted our way of thinking. Hell 2 years later to get msrp. Ridiculous.

Really one has to wonder why anyone would buy now after waiting 2 years may as well wait for 4000 series. Only concen will be if their in short supply, which they probably will be, and then scalpers out in droves again.

I got my 980ti brand new for like £340 when 10 series came out. Show me a rtx3080ti for £340 please....OK £400, no more.

It’s a weird symbiotic relationship that AMD and Nvidia have.
They were found guilty of price fixing back in 2008 (source) so it wouldn't come as a surprise if there was a symbiotic relationship now. (Allegedly, in my personal opinion, they're defiantly not guilty, I'm not accusing them (does that cover my, and OCUK's, backsides :)).

And if you look at the rest of the range:

3080 - £650
6800xt - £600

3070 - £450
6800 - £530
6700xt - £420

Scalpers didn't just triple the 3090 price, they tripled every single gpu regardless of brand. At least with nvidia, UK customers had a chance of getting a card for MSRP, where as there was "zero" chance of that with amd.

Not really - 6900XT was £1000, 3090 was £1300 (thats before scalpers tripled the 3090 price)

The 6900's dropped a lot earlier in the year, so much so for ages you could pick up one in the 900's whereas the 3080Ti, 3090, 3090Ti were way more for a long period of time.

It is only the regular 6800 and the 6700XT's that were really slow to receive price drops.

Let's hope that people don't buy from the scalpers next gen. With mining down hopefully people will pay less for a gpu as they will see it as a depreciating assest rather than a form of investment
