When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

Remember the claim that GPU prices were high, not because they could sell at a higher price to miners, but because shipping costs were high. Isn't it strange that costs of gpus are dropping now that crypto profits are down and mining is likely to become less profitable in the summer, yet the price of transporting cards is even more expensive now. If it was down to shipping costs shouldn't a gpu be at an all time high rather than dropping, freight costs have only risen since the war in Ukraine, not gone down, MSN

Nobody believed that for a second. Yes it had an impact but much like the fuel prices being blamed on high oil per barrel when we've had this price per barrel before and not the same high price it's all smoke and mirrors. Never let a good disaster go to waste

Was mostly ********, that's why.

It's also telling that some places that were selling cards at 1800+ and claiming they were barely making anything on them can suddenly drop them below 1600 with no apparent hit to their takings. Love being taken for a ride.

Of course they'll claim that's new stock bought at lower price etc etc. Always a "reason".

100% been selling to mining farms, we got the dribs and drabs at rip-off pricing. Record sales quarters is about to come to an abrupt end.

Don't forget the laughable due to copper and other metals having shot up in price. It was mostly down to mining especially ethereum. Now if that goes to proof of stake, hopefully by June, there could be large offloading of GPUs on to 2nd hand market. I for one are going to wait until market settles. If it doesn't will stay with my 2080 for while longer .

i picked up for a cheap little standby while waiting for prices to fall been stuck on internal after selling my v64, so picked up a gtx980 for 80 quid, it will do till next gen unveil

It was one long scam from start to finish, I said so right at the start of the gen, NV and AMD hand in hand with retailers scamming gamers on prices, and selling direct to mining farms whilst pretending they couldn't supply gamers with enough cards. They'll never run out of excuses to hike prices, any and every event is used as an excuse to hike prices, not just in this sector but in every sector - check Britsh Gas's profits up by 55% while they force some people to choose between keeping warm and eating enough. The whole economy is one massive scam and it is about time people woke up - trouble is the world is also full of brainwashed ***** who believe anything companies tell them.

The great GPU drought? BS - it was a con.

They hike the prices and idiots rush to buy them so they hike them more and idiots are queuing up.

It's supply and demand. I refused to pay a penny so there was no demand from me at all. Stop demanding and the prices are guaranteed to drop.

Less idiots left or the ones that did have already bought, now we have less demand and look at the prices dropping

I was reading in the 3050 thread Gibbo mention there may be another shortage/price rise as parts of China had gone into lockdown and there is a big covid outbreak in Hong Kong.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-60703301

The Shenzen one has just been lifted.

So seems a none issue, since the war stock supply has increased dramatically as most partners have now pulled out of Russia and I am grabbing everything I can, I am also holding a firm stance that the cost pricing is too high so give me better prices.

So far supply is still OK (not great) and I am still able to push for better pricing which is now reflected on the OcUK website.

It will be a combination of things though including what Gibbo said as thats something personally I wouldnt have thought of but its happening with other businesses.
@Gibbo has shipping costs come down too or are they still high ?
