When the Gpu's prices will go down ?

I have bid on cards as a genuine buyer on there in the past and noticed what was happening at the time were other bidders spoiling a typical limit (sale) by winning. I would message the seller asking why they relisted the item and they said timewasters or people pulling out using every trick in the book. I think they ended up listing as a make me an offer so they could vet genuine buyers but there was a pattern going on for sure. I tend to buy new these days for the warranty but wouldn't buy or sell a gpu off there anymore if I could help it.

I think people don't like "losing" an auction and bid higher than they would typically pay then regret it. Or they might be annoyed when they are outbid and decide to spoil it knowing there are no real consequences.

Non LHR would be a reason.. beyond that ?

I think initially this was correct. However after many algorithms improving on that and dual mining it wasn't long till the LHR was negated. With AMD it was different as RDNA1 hash was better than RDNA2 (i.e. a 5700XT was 55MH compared to the 6700XT's 45MH). Recently it was silly to buy any GPU even before the price crashes as the electric costs were staggering up.

It feels like the energy price hike is tied into crypto currency..

It feels like this is the death knell of that activity particularly in the UK. More so than ETH codswallop, floods of gpu's and other baloney that folk who dont know much about mining believe. Crypto isn't just about mining, you can earn money from staking or even trading which is nothing like mining. It was just a convenient scapegoat for people to blame at the time. Yes it played its part, but the market declining and the electric prices going up has uncannily not meant floods of cards breaking the bay nor has it been seen in the hashrate/difficulty statistics which is still at record highs.

The Sapphire Nitro+ RX 6700 XT fell to 548.99 today so I bought. I've been using i5 12600k integrated graphics since January. I wanted a quiet card that could do 60hz @ 1440p and had my eye on this one or the Red Devil. I was waiting for Intel Arc, however, I wasn't convinced by rumoured driver issues or actual performance (or delays). I'll keep it boxed until May 10th reviews for the 6750 are available; although the 6750 will be slightly faster it might also be noisier, longer, hotter, more expensive, all of these ...
Seems to be a wise move if AMD are putting up the price to 549 for a basic 6750xt then the premium will be nearer 650.
This would put the price of a 6750xt at only 30 dollars less than a 6800, which leads to the conclusion that AMD aren't interested in selling the 6800 at MRSP apart from in limited quantities on their shop.

recession, well could be on its way, BOE sort of semi predicting it, inflation about to hit double figures by end of yr, will be very little spare money around, well unless your supported by mummy n daddy, or have good job, unemployment predicted to over 5%, mining not profitable, or soon wont be come sept with 50% increase in energy bills, i cant see sales being that great tbh, plus the pound isnt great against dollar either, everything seems to be against the retail industry atm, im holding off till end of yr to see the situation and finances before commiting to a luxury
The thing is the sort of people spending £500+ on graphics cards are probably "supported by mummy n daddy, or have good job". I don't think the typical buyer of high end GPUs will be that impacted by any recession, if anything double-digit inflation should encourage them to be splashing the cash. Midrange/budget is a different story, probably a bunch of less well off buyers, students and the like for whom rising cost of energy and food will bite a bit.

"Auction fever" is the term i.e. got to beat that other bidder at any cost even if its heading well over the odds, the sign of a newbie bidder they get tunnel vision, experienced buyers know when to cut their losses.
Exactly what I did on my first ebay auctions. I didn't really think that if I "lost" one item, I could just bid on a second for a lower price.

Seems like LHR is fully unlocked seems convenient now that sales have slowed down and now nvidia will get sales otherwise wouldnt have  squeeze in some extra sales before 40 series hits

true or not I dont blame them after all doesnt matter who buys them as long they sell as much as they can ;)

Hoo boy, I guess Nvidia are still a bit dirty:

Interesting.

Could this mean increased msrp to help bolster the lie, on top of already increased msrp for increased growth expectations as per standard. Dangerous game for them if they price themselves out, but nvidia gonna nvidia and people gonna buy anyway.
