Which car would you chose?

Out of your list it would have to be the E39 but only because it's the only RWD car there :D

I like the idea of an Elise & keeping the Mondeo ;)

For me it'd be a tough call between the Impreza and the BMW.

I'd probably have the BMW, but in 540iSE flavour so that you have some real kick as well as a gorgeous interior.

Vectra 3.2GSI - 208bhp, 154mph, 0-60 7.0sec, 27mpg, group 15

BMW 528i - 193bhp, 147mph, 0-60 7.3sec, 29mpg, group 16

BMW 530i - 231bhp, 155mph, 0-60 6.9sec, 29mpg, group 17

Nothing in it really

Choose the BMW, you know you love it, we all know you love it. I have that distinct feeling that you will regret getting another Mondeo every time you drive pass a 5-series :)

At least you can brag you drive a BMW, not a Mondeo :p

Saddling yourself with a mortgage and a house to live in on your own sounds about as appealing as buying a brand new Corsa SXi :p
There is nothing wrong with buying a brand new Corsa SXi  (apart from having to take the dealer to court)

Moving out and buying a house is the sort of thing you do with a nice girl.
Or you could look at moving out on your own as a way of meeting plenty of bad girls. ;)

Choice of own place or nice motor, I'd get a bus pass, but out of your original four choices I'd pick either the BMW or Scoob.

I'm 'aving one. I'm gonna tune it up to the max. Bang fer buck, its a winner!!!!

I have yet to find anything to suggest it's even anywhere near as good as the ST220, with the notable exception of a few people who got lumbered with one as a company car and are trying to convince themselves they didn't get a raw deal :)

My neighbour has one - I always notice things about cars but it took me ages to realise it was the GSi he had not just a 2.0 DTi or something. It just looks like a Vectra :( And it has a Vectra interior and a Vectra chassis :(

id choose the impreza

but thats my biased oppinion.

BM's and Mondeos do nothing for me whatsoever, Imprezas do. But BMs and mondeos do it for you so you'll choose one of them. But having said that, a classic STI import will be considerably faster than any of the others cars :)

Whilst the lower models arnt hugely faster, i'd bet they drive better and just think of the quality difference :) Plus there is the small problem of the fact that ford sell the ST220

Its obviously the BMW and you probably allready know that I think. The Subaru would cost far more to run and unless you prefer handling of the other cars then its the BMW, theres no reason not to buy it

We often dont see eye to eye, but.. I would go for the BMW. Simply because it is refined, dignified, elegant, stylish. And because even if you own it for the next 5 years, it will still be a BMW 530, and time doesnt change that (hows that for sentiment).

If you find one with the optional wheels/spoiler it looks better. I have to say compared to the Mk1&2 GSI's its a big let down in the looks dept though.

Right well I own an ST200 which I adore!

Instead of selling you the idea of a ST200 im going to tell you why you will hate it.

-The reacaros are probably harder and less comfy than your GhiaX seats
-You will probably find the ride too harsh
-They arent actually that quick (torque levels are quite low)
-No cruise or heated leather

Yes the sound is great but anyone who buys a car purely on what it sounds like is bonkers.

I say buy the beemer :p
