Which company car?

I understand where you're coming from however if it was me i'd prefer aesthetics to also be a defining factor.

But they all look crap - it's a company car, you drive around in it whilst at work. Therefore, it needs to be nice and comfy inside, quick enough to not annoy you and with the kit you need to keep you sane.

The badge on the front.. how is that important? You are not buying it yourself its provided by your employer, it's a tool of the trade.

i deffo avoid the french and i dont like the vaux image even with the 150ps fiat engine, narrows it down a bit lol

the man speaks the truth!

And when you consider my personal car is a measly escort 1.6, anythings going to be better!

Go blag some test drives. On that list I've driven the Laguna, Astra, Passat and Mondeo, Laguna and Mondeo both for significant distances.

Laguna was nice inside but the ride was absolutely shocking and this wasn't made up for by sporty handling - it still wallowed. The Mondeo was excellent - near 3 Series levels of quality ruined by a crap engine but the one I had was a 2 litre petrol. Mondeo was very impressive.

Only good thing about the Passat was the electronic parking brake. Otherwise it was zzzzzzzzzz

Laguna and Passat both had electronic parking brakes - replaces handbrake with an electronic thing. Auto disengages when you pulled away. Really good.

is that the whole list? I've been on the receiving end of some of these lists in the past and you often find a gem in there somewhere.

For example, if you have a fuel card who cares if its petrol?

I remember Sony presenting me with a thoroughly depressing list full of 1.6 meganes and the odd zetec and then hidden in there..

Octavia VRS

Christ I got the **** ripped out of me but it was an awesome car :)

It would be the 407 for me, especially if you wanted the estate. Only Audi do a better looking estate and it aint on your list :p

Im pretty sure its the full list. :(

I get a fuel card, so yeah the fuel type doesnt matter to me

get a better job?

sorry, couldn't resist! ;) I could wind up in this situation myself before long, I'm pushing for a 120d msport but I might be forced to have a 320i SE.

Anyway, mondeo or laguna hatch for me, if you must have one of those cars it might as well be the fully toyed up comfy cruiser.

How up to date is that list?

The 307 has now been replaced by the 308, there hasn't been a 1.8 TDi Focus with 90BHP for years IIRC plus there is no LX model any more, and the Mondeo 2.0 LX 130 is a Mk3 spec too

The electronic parking brake on the passat is an answer to a question no-one asked, its a rubbish system i've done over 3 - 4k with one and still hate it.

Mondeo - new Mondeo is excellent. LOL at people picking the Passat. It's a 105 ffs!

well, i found that...

argh, i just cant be arsed...

Seriously, own/drive these things before you insist on slagging them - really tiring reading.

does yours have the "Auto-hold" button near the gear stick? Have to say the 2 combined have been the best addition to a workhorse i've used in a long time.

I really wasn't that impressed with the Passat at all. The parking brake was a PITA as well I found.

I've only had them on hire to drive, mine is a B5.5 so the model before the parking brake.

Never noticed an Auto-Hold button, will have a look next time, i usually get a 170ps Sport.

One of the worst things about it is the seatbelt etc starting sequence.

The vectra is the most powerful, and is a nice large car which will be comfyish.

I'd have that, based on the power.
