Which Console To Choose

think of it this way even if the ps3 was way more powerful than 360 its not gonna make much difference because only the exclusive games are going to maximise its potential. how many exclusives do ps3 actually have at the minute i mean a lot of the must haves are multi format cod3 ,assasins creed, gta, jericho all multi format and capco have declared there only making multi format aswell so there be no more impressive on ps3 than on 360 so unless you really want the few exclusives that ps3 go for 360 least then you'llget games like gow and bioshock and lost odyssey.

I'd probably use my pc for GOW but i don't really have the cash for that or a 360 unless i want to go broke lol..

*dies*

Huh? nooooooooooooooo

5 gig install on some games. I am not sure if you need to install all games.... but they reduce the load times on the slow blu ray drie... cuts the time down drastically.

So that means that if you get the 20 GB version, 4 games and bye bye hard drive space :/ 60GB version then I suppose. Anyone else looking forward to shelling out almost 450 for it :/

I doubt we'll see GoW on the PC, and if we do, it won't be for 2+ years.

Ah damn it, i always assume everything will be on pc well not everything but i thought this would be? *damn you thingybobswhateveryoucallit* *shakes fist*

yeah GoW is 360 exclusive last time i checked so won't be on pc ant time soon its 360s big seller its one of the games to get playstation fanboys to join us on the light side.

And these are the small games. Honestly I cant see RR7 being more than 5GB in size. So it must be a full install. What happens when Games are taking up the full 50GB of the Bluray disk? Is this going to mean only having one large game installed at a time?

Wait till the console is here and then make a judgement because before that happens you are chatting out of your arse. (not aimed at anyone in particular)

A good post Kronologic. All of it, oh so true.

If anyone is unsure what console to get, wait until the Wii launches at least. That means that people can finally see what it is really like and have a good *long* play of the games. Previews are often misleading, and it is very hard to judge a game from a preview. See which games are your type.

Wait for the reviews, wait for the demopods, and see which has the better in store deals. Then whip out the credit card and buy the one you like.

Which is why I said at the least have a look at all the videos... dont just look at one source... :)

I'll push for the 360 for a number of reasons.

The Live service has evolved and so far ALWAYS for the better - they seem to really listen to what we want, most of the stuff we ask for gets added. No doubt we will see more notification options in the next update, and divx support is the future.

Granted though i prefer a lot more Single Player stuff to multiplayer so Live isnt a sole reason, but the games out currently do look fantastic, and yea the PS3 may be more powerful, but how much more power do you need?? If they can pull of games like GoW then i dont care.

Im also not interested in the PS3 exlcusive, GT, MGS4 etc.. they dont interest me - if they manage to nab Ninja Gaiden 2 (unlikely) then i would buy a PS3 purely for that game, until then - im not bothered.

Another reason is no-one knows when the PS3 is really gonna hit Europe, what the internet service will be like, cost(or do we?) - they may have said things about it - but they also said a lot of stuff about the PS3 which hasnt happened.

Again though with the PS3 its speculation.

The 360 has made me not play a PC Game for a good year now - no console before even the original xbox has done that, justification for me :) (well untill Crysis maybe)

And its just lots of fun :D

It'll be 3 games just like the PSP and the 360. The margine on selling a new console is something like £10. The Retailers and Sony will want to make a profit on selling these things, so they will force you to buy some games and accessories.

A PS3 revision 2, with a 4 speed blu-ray drive. (Which they'd really hoped on for launch).

But videos show you nothing. They don't tell you what the gameplay is like, if the control system works, and if it is fun!

Wait for the reviews and check out the averages etc. Short of playing it, thats the best way.

See i disagree - but then i hate reviews; some games have been reviewed awfully yet ive loved them; some have had awesome reviews and ive hated them. Personally i find reviews pointless - and go by my own judgements.

Agreed. Which is why I say videos are the best. If nothing else you can get an oppion of the games, and see how they run, play. Look at how many people got happy over the GoW videos for an example.

But then, it doesnt really help with how the Wii plays, I will admit that.

IMO reviews went south a long time ago. It is a (relatively) well known fact that Games publishers bribe/extort good reviews out of games magazines. It seems that every game is an 8 or a 9 these days. I mean 9 should be reserved for only the best games. Average games should be a 6-7 everything above 9 should be almost unparallel. IMO we should only see Scores above 9.0 once a year across all formats.
