meh, thats not true. Having to much upperbody weight due to muscle will slow you down. People like Lee tried to get the perfect ratio of muscle and speed, whereas people like Fedor would use brute power rather than speed.

I'll admit Kyokushin is a good type of karate, other karates, such as okinawan forms are better imo, then you get onto other forms of martial art.

id be well chuffed with a physique like renolds. Im a right skinny sod so im very defined, i just need to sort out my diet really and im pretty sure i could get there.

Yea I think reynolds is the upper end of my scale. I be well chuffed with that.
We will see, ask me in 6 months or so, I'l probably have changed my mind and want to be bigger, its addictive!

Er, Fedor is known for his speed, not his brute strength (which he has plenty of). He is very very fast for a HW, faster than most light heavies and even a lot of middle weights. Lee was naturally tiny, so doesn't come into it. Fedor is naturally big. Watch some of his fights, then see what you think.

Start with this one :

I've done a fair bit of boxing and I've sparred with England internationals..and had a couple of proper rucks. The guy is fast for his size IMO.

I'm about 14.5 stone at the moment but about 18-20% bodyfat so I need to do a bit more CV and cut down a bit...I've been going for muscle growth the last few months though (since November really).

Lol, are you saying Fedor is slow for a 230lb's man? Do you think Mike Tyson was slow as well, or what about David Tua?
Nope, I'm saying fedor is slow compared to people of other phisique (which this thread happens to be about), which is to be expected, yet I'll agree he is fast for his weight. Tyson in his prime was probably faster than fedor, although you put them in a ring together, under mma rules, or no holds barred, and my bet would be on Fedor to win.

And Im talking about actual speed, not somebody waving their hands around in front of a camera.
Not an MA I take it then.

Here's the same guy "waving his hands" - http://www.youtube.com/w/Sifu-Carrion...?v=jsBWe0D6Gy0&search=jeet kune do concepts jkd

I'd like a bit of muscle definition and no flabby bits please.

That picture of Pitt in Snatch looks about right to me, can't see the attraction of all these bulging veined musclemen, very impressive to get like that, but its a bit gross to look at..

I'd be quite happy with that too, though aren't his neck muscles (are they the deltoids) a little on the large size? Tone those down a little and i'd be happy.

What sort of routine would you need for that? Currently I've only started back at the gym but mine contains (weights-wize) leg press, chest press, lap pulldown, shoulder press, bicep curl, tricep curl.

I'm due to add low pulley rows in the next couple of weeks. I do cardio too to get me started then move onto weights.

Anyone have any advice?

Fedor is extremly fast for a heavy weight. esp when ground & pounding and passing guard.

whats your point?
My point is that there was a comparison made where in someone's sport they would beat someone who made the top in another sport.

Its like saying Ronnie O'Sullivan would beat Linford Christie at snooker. Well of course he would.

That was obvious.

I sort of see your point, but that doesn't really apply to this thread. This is about phisique, and part of that would have to be how useful it would be in real life. And the place you're most likely to end up having a fight in real life, (unless you're a professional fighter) would be on the street, and how many *****'s fight by Marquis of Queensbury rules?
