I recall hearing the same that Youtube is deliberately throttled on Firefox. Some users get around this by spoofing their user agent and magically the performance issues are solved..

Besides Firefox on my personal machine I mostly use Edge at work as some of the corporate apps occasionally act weirdly on FF.

Was reading an article recently which talked about how Google's javascripting is written in a way which deliberately favours chrome-derived engines and targets calls which the mozilla engine isn't as good at so that the likes of firefox suffers on google served webpages like youtube and similar.

I.e. it may not actually be firefox, but rather the server end hampering firefox.
So they pulled an Intel

Pale Moon (with uBlockO). But also have Vivaldi as a Chrome based backup since a few sites can have problems on Pale Moon.

At work I'm stuck with a choice between Chrome and Edge, so usually Chrome.

All of them (literally) - Chrome, Vivaldi, Brave, Edge, Firefox 56, Waterfox.

I've got a terrible habit of just opening new tabs to view things, so I ended up with 2k tabs (yes, 2,000) in Chrome, used Vivaldi for a bit and ended up with another handful of tabs, use Edge for work related stuff and Microsoft rewards, Firefox (56) stopped being supported so tried to move to Waterfox for the legacy add on support etc.

I started using Brave a few weeks back and trying to migrate away from Chrome (and being more sensible with my usage!

You should have a look at ARC browser is can auto close tabs for you after X days/hours or mins

I went off Firefox long ago when it seemed to become clunky and slow, the time Crome really started to take off. Work uses Edge and I was getting used to that at home but I’ve been looking to change as I hate the way edge pushes everything at you, I find it very intrusive

Firefox here since I switched to Linux back around 2017. I do install Chrome as well but only use it for things like Amazon Luna and GeForce Now. Not that I have noticed any slowdown, but for YouTube I have started using FreeTube.

A shameless bump? Seen as it's been nearly 4 months since the last post, lets see if anyone changed, or new people vote. Thanks.

At Work mainly Edge to quickly and seamlessly move between my normal account and my full Admin account (365 Admin).

At home either Safari or Edge/Chrome depending on what I am doing (have had issues with remote management of ProxMox on Safari) or if I am using my PC or my (main) Mac.
