Who are you voting for on Thursday?

It seems that people all too quickly forget what happened the last time a frustrated populace elected a bunch of racist, ignorant, nationalistic morons who promised radical change.

There you have it - a prime example of quite how amazingly retarded BNP supporters can be.

Michael Howard, born in Wales to Welsh and Romanian parents. Lived and attended school in Wales. Studied at Cambridge, worked as a barrister and became a QC, has been involved in English politics for 25 years...

...is an immigrant. And according to the DD school of logic, cannot care about the country as much as him and other natives.

Epic.

And you are clearly breaking the rules regarding personal attacks. His views are easily argued against without resorting to insults.

Which I've been doing all morning. I'm sorry for the insults, but I find it hard to believe that these views are still held. Plus, if I'm going to be told off for breaking the rules, there's nothing I'd rather break them for. Such blatant racism shouldn't be tolerated here. I've said it before in many threads when race comes up. It's not exactly putting OCUK in a good light and I'm surprised a more active approach isn't taken against it.

I would rather have a forum where people are allowed to speak their minds with regards to what views they have than one where dissenting views were quashed. The "racist" nature of this forum is frankly overstated as the vast majority of posters either speak out against it or don't actually care either way. A handful of people are racist, but so what? It isn't illegal.

I would even hazard a guess that the majority of OCUK customers are unaware of the forums existence or do not read it.

If you think I've said anything extreme then by all means RTM it, and if the mods determine I am being too extreme then I will stop voicing those opinions. I certainly haven't intended to post anything offensive but you have to realise that other people have different views, and you won't always agree with them.

edit - I have RTM'd the thread myself for the mods' attention

I'm not going to reporting anything. And of course I realise that other people have different views - I very rarely agree with anyone about anything. But this isn't trivial, we're talking about racism and I think it's unacceptable.

Also, to bring this back onto the voting topic. I'm also annoyed about the expenses scandal, just as much as everyone else. But voting BNP because they've been promoting themselves as the answer to the scandal is crazy. Look at the rest of their policies.

Voted green party, dont really believe in them or there policies but didnt want to vote for any main stream party. (atleast they have a chance at stealing some seats)

BNP wasnt really an option either, as they will be worse the current main strem partys.

Nice how you have to pick the lesser evil in elections these days and not anyone who you believe in.

Unfortunetaly I cannot vote this time around as I had exams and forgot to register.
But I am sick to death of seeing people being so anti-EU on this forum, I will bet none of you has actually seen first hand the work EU does.
France, Germany and Italy all give more money to the EU than the UK (link and yet they don't complain nearly as much as you:rolleyes:.
Let's take an example, the Kelvingrove Museum here in Glasgow received about 2,5million £ from the EU regional development fund when it was refurbished a few years back (link. The EU does take more than it gives from the UK, but Germany gives more and yet is more fully integrated into the Union. The reason why the EU seems to "take" more than it gives is because they want to essentially help those memberstates which are not as well off as the UK and others in the belief that we should all work together to create a better world for all of us. Since Greece joined the EU, they have enjoyed a massive investment by the EU and as such they now have better infrastructure and a better way of life.
Anyway, rant over:p.

I find socialism unacceptable yet people are still allowed to go on about that, how is that fair?

Do you actually want to discuss the issues we're talking about, or are you just trolling me for some reason?

I'm not requesting a ban on racist views and I'm all for free speech. But, some of the views expressed here are bordering on racial hatred, which is undeniably wrong.

edit: I'm definitely stepping away from this now.

I honestly don't see where I have posted anything racist, and certainly anything about racial hatred. I don't hate anyone because of their race or nationality.

We are net contributors, so we suffer crumbling roads etc. while we pay for Spain to have nice new ones. Madness.

Since Greece joined the EU, they have enjoyed a massive investment by the EU and as such they now have better infrastructure and a better way of life.
Yes, paid for by us with money that could have gone on our infrastructure.

A bit like slaving hard at work and living in a rundown house, and giving your wages to your neighbour so he can live in a nice new one. Does that seem sensible to you?
