Who else has preordered Octopath travlers!

What's the general feeling so far? Good? Great? Amazing? I get paid in Wednesday and this is what I'm thinking of getting for this month.

It's a by-the-numbers JRPG with great presentation. I'm enjoying it, reminds me of playing FF6 when I was a kid.

Good man, you'll love it :)

I fly home tomorrow. In the afternoon I am going to swap back to DOOM to get that finished off the continuing on with OT after that :)

I've had this game a week and clocked up 28hrs into it :o

Gradually working my way through exploring routes I previously ran through to get the characters and working on the 2nd Chapters as well. Also just did Cyrus' 2nd chapter...

My god, that turned a bit dark didn't it?!

On 46hrs :o

Just got chapter 4 left for H'aanit, Primrose, Tressa & Alfyn. They're all still really low level but managed to drag them through with the others as they're all 50+ - might not be possible to do the same for the last chapters but we'll see.

Some of the stories are quite dark

29hrs30 mins in and I've just done chapter two on my hunter, cleric ,scholar and thief just starting olberics now and so far I must say Cyrus has the most interesting story

Chapter 2 done for:

- Cyrus (agreed, I think his is the most interesting thus far)
- Therion
- Alfyn
- H'aanit (a character I am enjoying more than I though I would)
- Tressa

So that's Primrose, Olberic & Cyphelia to go!

One thing I would like would be the ability to place markers on the map for areas you discover but need to come back to later due to level requirements etc :)

30hrs in myself now :D - although back at work this week. So progress will slow down a lot.

Managed to force my way through H'aanit 4 with her at level 25, rest of the party 57/53/52.

Using the trinkets to give her a HP buff and carrying her with damage from the other members of the party seemed to work.

I need to look at replacing Therion with H'aanit I think as I quite enjoy her skill set/play style.

Only just spotted that the passive skills learned from other jobs remain, even when that related job isn't equipped anymore. I was wondering how to get all four characters above the 9999 damage limit and the answer is to level warrior on each character for the 'Surpassing Power' passive :o shame you have to take a slot - effectively means you only have 3 passive choices later on for damage dealers.

Had another go at Warbringer shrine level 57/53/52/51- managed to get some decent damage in but despite keeping the physical attack debuff on the boss, there was a point with some insane physical AOE damage that I think may need some trickery to get round.

Also at the stage where I've got some of the end game weapons now, Cyrus with a load of +Elemental Atk gear and Olberic with +Physical Atk is just crazy damage. I especially like Olberic's Divine sword attack, puts a grin on my face seeing the huge number flying

/edit apologies should have been a spoiler not a quote :(

Also re: chests in 'Dungeons' / pre-boss chapter areas and my previous annoyance:

if you're looking to get all of the chests in a chapter pre-boss area in one attempt, you're going to need to take Therion with you. Pretty much every one I've been in so far has 2 of the purple and gold chests that only Therion can open. Not massively difficult to go back afterwards but still annoying to me when he's not in the party. :o

Started with H'aanit (I like hunters). Loving the artstyle and music. Not far in just feeling my way. Love it so far. Battles are great.

Anyone else slamming the screenshot button in this game?

Or just me? :o

This game is STUNNING. :D

Last night I completed Primrose Chapter 2. Enjoying her story also. I just have Olberic & Ophilia left now and then it's onto Chapter 3 all around

Yeah it is certainly beautiful.

I got up early this morning to get an hour in before I had to go to work. I am sat at my desk now with my Switch next to me...

i am only a few hours in, i have done chapter 1 of Obleric, Tessa and Primrose, i am LOVING this game, as said its like a throwback to the 90s when Square actually made decent games. if it wasn't so hot out id be sitting in my car at lunch racking up some exp!

52 hours on the clock and all chapters done. I've thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Really not had this many smiles in a game for a good while! GG Square Enix and Aquire!

Now onward to see if I can finally nail some of the advance job bosses :o

on bosses, there's an optional side quest in the Forest of No Return just to the West of Victor's Hollow. This sees you trying to rescue a missing daughter and the boss you run into is hard as nails! Took me a good 45 minutes to bring down

How many chapters is there? Just out of curiosity

:o

Given how spanked I got by the Warmaster job shrine boss, I put off visiting the others. I've just killed the Sorcerer boss with relative ease. Pretty sure I could have done this one 10 or so levels ago (Olberic currently level 63). Each skill for the advanced jobs costs 2000 JP with the final, divine one costing 5000jp as per the standard jobs.

/Edit Starseer done too, Runeblade next then back to Warbringer hopefully!
