Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Do you think a fiesta st with a tow bar on would be a daft idea?? I;ve had my car about 2 months now and loving it, but i really want to buy an off-road motorbike and will need to tow it on a trailer.
or would i just be better getting a removable tow bar/

Yes you can fit one. I had one on the back of my ST when I bought it. Trust me. I have proof if needed.

I think the issue is more that it's not legal to tow with the Fiesta ST. Taken from some random online site:

"If the manufacturer has not authorised the towing of a trailer by declaration during the type approval process, no train weight will be shown and it is not permitted to fit a coupling device or tow a trailer. "

The Fiesta ST has no towing weight declared.

you can get the Official ford towing kit for Mk6 fiestas.

Yeah, and even though it fits, I would hazard a guess that Ford don't specify it as being for the ST as well. Each engine and variant of the Fiesta Mk6 is given it's own towing weight, the ST hasn't been given one (presumably because Ford didn't think anybody would ever tow with it

)

EDIT: Although saying all this, i'd be very surprised if you did ever get called up on it.

Yeah, i was looking around the internet and found that as it doesn't have a towing weight, it's apparently illegal to tow with it.
so although you can get tow-bars that will fit it, it's not a good idea to do so.

not really. aesthetic mods are one thing as it is subject to personal taste.
things like the mountune upgrades are widely recognised as adding value.
you only have to look at the premium for them on pistonheads etc.

i wont be selling mine, but mountune ups the valve (slightly) and other than a leather gear gaiter and a few stickers, nothing really has changed.

Luckily, i prefer the pre facelift interior!

I would probably buy off the bay. I think when i was looking before they were around £150 for both pairs.

Got a few cans of Plastidip through today. Was going to do wheels but think i may just test on the ABS plastics first and see what the results are like.

Just wish the weather was a bit better.

The ebay link is the ones I saw. I asked the seller too. :rolleyes:

anyone got any idea of where to source ford oem lights? they are like hens teeth on the bay and a lot of the replicas probably dont pass an MOT at a guess.

looking forward to your results. plastidip for my platics is next on my to do list after seeing Gibbo's results on his Porsche at work.
ideally want more indication of how it will look/work on an ST.

Logsi, your white ST should look amazing with black plastics. cant wait to see your results mate

should give me a better indication of how my silver st will look with black plastics and black ST500 alloys :cool:

just need a dry day to have a go at getting my stripes off.
