Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Fixed.

Be honest Tim, you had convinced yourself the 182 wasn't as good as your Civic even before you bought it, but still went ahead with the swap anyway and have moaned about it ever since.

I am being honest. On paper the 182 is a better car. I just prefer raw, loud and unrefined hondas. mattbill has a DC2 so probably knows what i'm talking about, where as you clearly don't.

Thats assuming the engine is all thats gone. I've just gone through a month of discovering things being wrong with my Clio and its cost me an arm and a leg.

Like I said, theres a reason so many Clio's with blown engines are sold in bits. There no point in fixing them.

If you want a cleap fun Clio, spend up to £2k on one thats fully working.

No no, I do. For you, the problem is that the 182 is not a Honda. You love the image that goes with Hondas.

You said this many times before swapping for the 182, yet swapped it anyway. And all you have done since swapping is moan that the 182 isnt a Honda.

This is fine, its your opinion. But an opinion squewed so much because of a love for one type of car cannot really be used as a basis for a fair review of the 182, can it?

Look at it simply. Your saying the 182 wont be as good as a DC2 because you love EK9's...

May as well say that the 182 wont be as good as a DC2 because you are rather fond of strawberry ice cream...

Not really what I said at all is it? About 3 minutes ago I said the 182 is better on paper. I am saying a honda nut will miss it, that's all:)

Edit: do a little research on the similarities of the EK9 and DC2 chassis/engine before making daft comments, too.

*facepalm*

Thats EXACTLY my point. It is impossible for a Honda nut to provide a valid opinion on a 182 if they always consider it inferior to a Honda hot hatch.

Just because you think the EK9/DC2 chassis is a gift from god, doesnt make it fact.

Anyone here have a Whiteline Rear ARB fitted? Thoughts?

Cliosport love them. Only bad reviews I've seen are from people with the adjustable ones setting them too hard.

I didn't say it's inferior though. I said the 182 is better:confused:

I just meant he will miss certain characteristics of a honda, probably:p

I cant beleive Mike has the audacity to claim the owner of that Clio was 'deluded' because he wouldnt accept 300 quid for it. 300 quid!? Thats pathetic. Heck I got almost that for a rusty Mk2 Mondeo that would never drive again.

If you think a tatty car with a terminal engine is worth any more, you need to re-evaluate what you think you know about cars.

Unless you think paying more to buy and fix such a car than just buying a working one is acceptable? Considering he claims every other interested party has offered him similar money, it is not far off the mark at all.

Regardless of which, my issues lie in the fact that he plans on scrapping it for less than £100 before accepting £300.

Friend bought the one off cliosport with the orange roll cage that was for sale recently, got a good deal and its a fun car :D

Still waiting for a go in my friends nutter job 300hp 182 Turbo but it never seems to leave the showroom :(

I've heard they are suppose to be fantastic, completely transform the car. Don't think they are making them for the mk2 now though?

Is anyone here considering buying some KTEC coilovers by any chance?

I was until i blew all my money on a new TV :p how comes?

Well, despite being completely skint, I've already spent much of next months pay which is coming to me on Friday. A set of H&R coilovers came up on ClioSport for a great price, so I figured I'd buy them.

So I'll have my 8 week old, and practically brand new (once I've washed them) KTR coilovers available and wondered if anyone was after some. I know I can't sell outside of the MM, so need to be careful. But they'll be up on CS.net this weekend :)

How much are you wanting for them? Are they for a cup or normal suspension?

The H&R's are meant to be amazing. Looks like you've got yourself a bargain!

They are for cup suspension.

I've just listed them on CS.net, I doubt I'll get the £285 I'm asking for, but they retail for £356, so it's a pretty nice discount for someone for what are practically new coilovers. I just wish these H&Rs had come about sooner, I got them for £450, and the dude is going to fit them for me :)

'kinell, by the time you've finished with it your 182 is gonna be no expense spared! :p
Give me a call when you're getting rid of it for an S2000!

I really need to calm down. I've owned it for less than a year, and this will be the fourth suspension setup I've had. Cup suspension > Eibach Sportlines > KTR coilovers > now H&R :)

I've come to the realisation that I won't be able to afford a new car for a while, so I'm considering just keeping this for a couple of years, and when it is time for a new car, keep this as a track toy (in an ideal world, but I know it's probably unlikely). I'm going to try and get to at least one 'beginner' track day this year :)

There's quite a few cars I'd love right now though, mainly a Z4 Coupe, S2000, or an e46 M3.
