Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Thanks Squirrel

I'm looking at doing cheap mods! Any suggestions are welcome! Considering getting these

http://shinyautos.com/shop/product_info.php?products_id=36

Might get a small sticker :) Also would like a new gear knob! Also SS, could you tell me where you got your plate done? Think I'm going to do the same, looks MILES better.

I wouldn't bother with pap lighting.

Spend it/put it towards either:

Cleaning products
Panel Filter
Anything else other than naff lighting.

There's actually a thread on CS for cheap mods sub £100.

Edit: D'oh, can't read ^ lol :p

Been reading that thread for the past 40 mins :p

SS, link to site where you got your plate done please :) ?

Would also like to know how much your bullets cost and who done them!

I bought the plates from www.fancyplates.com

Mine is 520 x 90, attached with industrial strength (I'm only saying that because it's bloody strong!) velcro from Halfords. There is a guide here on how to order them - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?389536-Custom-size-numberplates&p=4934542#post4934542

As you'll see, the guide says the size is 520x84, but you'll notice in the picture that this doesn't quite cover the full area, therefore 520x90 is the size to go for :)

The bullets cost £35 (you post yours to him) from this dude - http://www.cliosport.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?155-Spray-Shack

Thanks a lot ^^ did you just go for the font 1 / black border? Would come up with my own plate that I like but it helps that I can actually see genuine pictures of yours on the car.

Also decided I want some Turinis in white  So expensive though!

Went for a play today through Cheddar Gorge and OMG that road is epic! Its like the clio was designed for it!

However, it has made me think about an ARB. SS, when u say 'floaty' do you mean that when you turn left or right at speed it can feel like the rear end takes half a second to catch up with you as it shifts the weight about? As this is something I have noticed and would like to reduce. Also, the front end can feel like its pushing outwards on cornering as the suspension compresses? If an ARB reduces this I will definatley be looking for one. Is it worth it on standard suspension though?

But for anyone in the Cheddar area, definately go for a Gorge run! Its fantastic!

I just went for a completely plain one, no border :)

Right set of letters looks faded in this picture for some reason.

It's hard to explain how it felt really, I guess it could be the back end taking a while to 'catch up', but it just felt like the car was almost lifting off the ground slightly (like if you go over a crest at speed for example). Really hard to explain.

I've seen people recommend the ARB with the standard suspension so I'd say it's definitely worth it.

I could take you for a ride at the meet next week but I'm not sure if being a passenger you'll really feel it.

This pushing wide feeling is my only complaint about the Clio's suspension, I'd much rather the car induced a little oversteer than understeer when you hit the limit, but what concerns me is that the arb makes things far too stiff and the car just tries to swap ends instead.

It's a fine balance, and one I'm sure you'd only get either with a lot of development on the ARB on a standard car, and then putting it on a standard car or an adjustable ARB where you can set it up to get the balance you want. Either would be fine for me, as I plan on keeping the suspension standard on mine, although I'd prefer something adjustable.

The ARB I bought has 7 levels of adjustment, plenty to let you fine tune it to your driving style. I believe the Whiteline ARB has 3 levels of adjustment.

Having 'played' with it a bit more I am amazed. It's like driving a go kart. I went round a roundabout this morning and I really chucked it around and it just went where I wanted.

It's very point and go, and fortunately the middle setting (which is what they suggest you start on) seems to have struck the perfect balance for me, so far there is no understeer and no oversteer, it just goes where I want it to.

From what you're saying about I really think you should consider getting one. As I mentioned earlier you can always (and easily) sell it on if it doesn't suit your driving style.

I know exactly what you mean. It feels like the back end jumps up and shifts half a foot so you get a bit of a wiggle as you regain grip. It's odd as it's not a slide it feels like a full on jump. To be expected I guess if you're gunning it over a crest and on a bend!

Yeah, except it would feel like it even on flat straight ground, just if you're going about 60mph and steering left and right fairly quickly. That is all but eliminated now, which is nice.

Trouble is with suspension stuff, everyone has different tastes and driving styles. Me describing how my car handles is largely pointless as how it feels to me could be completely different to someone else.

All I care about is that I love how it handles now :) Confidence in the car is definitely back!

Was dry on your way to work SS? What you going to do next, apart from the tyres? :p

It was mostly dry, with damp patches.

Considering my front tyres need replacing I was impressed, can't wait to get some new ones on there :)

No other plans, I just want to enjoy it now. Although I desperately want some Recaro Trendlines from a Trophy, but they're about £600-800, which I really cannot justify!

I'll definately take a passenger ride at the RR SS!

Just a small piece of advice, make sure you remove the Poker set from your boot before you go for a hoon:

DOH!

HAHAHA! That's not good!

That's the trouble with cars like this, you can't help but throw it around corners, which when you have food shopping in the boot isn't always the best thing.
