Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Seems a tad pricey Begbie, the reason is obviously down to 1 owner and low milage. I paid £3,300 for 74k. Having said that, I would have probably rather got one with around £50,000 on the clock in racing blue but I shouldn't look back considering how great a deal I got on mine. Are the tyres good on the one you're looking at? If not I'd want to get it down to £4,250.

Just after abit of price advice as I'm planning on getting rid of my 172 Cup next week :(

Currently it stands at 47,800 miles, FSH, MOT + TAX till September, New clutch next week, non melted steering wheel, very good condition inside and out with a few stone chips on the front and slight kerbing on one of the wheels. Fully standard apart from a YozzaSport exhaust and decat.

Thinking of putting it up at £3295? Opinions?

It is from a dealer, to be fair if I get it for 4500 I will take it.

Going to phone insurance companies tonight, as More Than are more than useless! means losing half a years no claims, but willing to take that hit at the moment.

According to Glass's it trades at £3300 for a mint one, so they should have plenty of room to move on the price.

Nice one, I shall try and get as close to £4k as possible. I can't see them getting below 4400 mind, but we shall see.

Be nice to drive a minter, to compare the rest to anyway.

Seems pricey Krowzer as surely most people would be looking at a 182 if they had 3.3k. Dunno though, try it, they can only try knocking you down.

I thought this was looking promising!

So sent him an email;

Hi,

Has the cambelt been done recently on the car? FSH? Also has any modifications been done?

Regards,

Response;

Hi Martin

No the cambelt has not been changed, The car does not have FHS, and the only mods are the bonnet locks.

Think I will avoid, no FSH at 35k! Seems like he is trying to get rid of it.

Hmm I guess, I've budgeted on getting a lot less than 3.3k so we'll see. Saying that though... 3.3k for a 182? Doubt its going to be very good? :confused:

Begbie, that 182 has shed written all over it on top of what you've mentioned the bumper isn't the original and has been resprayed.

Sorted a few bits on my 182 today.

Replaced odd budget tyre with a part worn* PE2 - so they are all matching.
Replaced thumb grips.
Gave gear knob plastic insert to a friend to paint - an hour later he sticks it back in my car while the tyre is being done (he works next door) - I come back to find my tyre done and a great job done on the plastic insert.

*Bought with 6mm tread for £50 - I thought it was quite a good deal, it also means that it should keep wear pretty even instead of one tyre lasting longer than it's opposite side.

I just need to get on and find some discs and pads - had a quote from a friend in a local motorfactor of £62 for two front Mintex Discs and Mintex 1141 pads, but I've no idea if they are any good or not - stupidly cheap though.

Edit: Almost forgot, ordered a K-tec panel filter today, too.

There's loads of 182's for around 3300 on PH that look decent. I'll be listing mine for a similar price as soon as it's ready for sale.

Mintex pads are the cheap alternative to stock Renault pads. I have them on the back of mine (as the rear brakes do sod all), but wouldn't want them on the front. Brembo HC discs (£90ish a pair) or stock Renault get good reviews, and then pads are based on what you want to do with it (road, fast road, track, racing, etc). I have Ferodo Performance on the front and I am a little underwhelmed with them at the moment, but they are only 500 miles old.

To be fair, the bottom picture has painted fog lights, when it shouldn't :P

Loads of cars have had front end resprays - my ST was done at less than two years old without even having a crash. If it is a good job, and there is no panel damage behind, it wouldn't worry me.

Yeah true, if anything a resprayed front bumper due to stone chips and scuffs shows the owner actually cares about the car, but in the case of the 182 linked thats not the case as its clearly had a cheap repair.

no xenons, yet it has FF wheels and interior, I'd say that the front has probably has a respray. For ref, keep your eyes on this, should be black, as per the bottom pic.

The wheels are the Anthracite ones you get on the 182 cups and with a cup packed 182, they are the same on both models.

The only different ones are the silver ones which come with the standard non cup packed 182.

But as you say, it has the 182 'FF' interior and digi climate, but no Xenons.

So the lights have been changed for some reason at some point.

I'd say that ones has 99% been shunted at the front, its got none oem washer blanks on it and the reason being is that they're about £50 EACH. If they'd been taken off for just a respray then why wouldn't they be put back on.
