Who here owns a Renaultsport?

What's the difference between the Trophy model and the normal ones?
They've got sachs remote reservior dampers, anthracite speedline turini wheels and recaro seats. Other than that they're the same as a 182 cup. Only 500 came to the UK and they're all capiscum red.

What insurance group at 172/182s?
Ph1 172/Ph2 172/182/182 Cup are 16. 172 Cup/Trophy are 17.

I had a play with a 182 last week in my polo, not sure what it all had done to it but it had a custom exhaust system at the least. Its acceleration wasn't bad, not too much slower than mine, then when I reached about 4000rpm my speed was still going up but the 182 seemed to die. He must've been at a lot higher revs too as he changed in to 5th when I was below 5000rpm. It was good fun though and the mx5 that also tried to play was severely embarassed by both cars

What polo do you have?

You must have some serious mods then as a standard 182 would beat a standard GTI

can I play? :)

I used to have a 172 Cup, now I just have a Williams.

Well, I don't own one but am intrigued by the fact that so many people seem to like them.

What are the downsides of these cars? Noisy on the motorway? Dodgy build? Rattly trim?

Owners of BMW 7 Series / 5 Series etc etc would say that it isnt possible to live with a clio 182 on the motorway. The lack of huge leather seats and climate control means its simply NOT possible ....

;)

Engine is quite droney I've found - but that aside not really noisey compared to anything else of it's size/class.

Build quality (and reliability) is typical French, the boot carpet is made out of cardboard lol. I pulled out a charger from the 12v socket yesterday and the whole ashtray/cupholder unit came with it :)

Lining the boot floor of the wifes in MDF. This will also be where the 12 disc changer and Amp gets moved to.

As for noises etc the one i just bought her is a bit noisier than most owing to the fact it has been lowered 30mm and has a exhaust you could smuggle polish people into the country in.
