Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Should be if it's a live remap on the rollers. Price seems about right for AMD. They're quite expensive anyway but the free fitting brings it down to normal prices.

Is a custom remap that much better than a standard performance map you could do yourself though? Enough to justify £200?

I'm sure it's worth it if you're running ITBs, decat, etc. But on a standard setup with a cat-back exhaust it seems a bit of a waste. I'd rather buy an RSTuner second hand for £90 and do it myself, then sell it on (which is what I did).

Theres a big argument about this over on CS at the moment (in the Dealer, Specialist and Trader Experience section) as some guy had a remap at RS Tuning and another guy said it would've been cheaper to get an RSTuner.

Think the general consensus is that a custom remap is better as it's more suited to the car. Whether it's £200+ better than an RSTuner is another question!

Excluding vat ;)

Unless they've massively gone up in price, I'm fairly sure that was the price including 2 dyno runs, one before and one after?

O and I'm not test driving the 200 today, going to have to wait until tomorrow. The weather is pretty appalling though!

Testing the 200 today! Although I've just been informed it isn't a Cup, nor does it have the Cup chassis. And it's due to hammer it down with rain very shortly :(

Yeh someone was with me, luckily it was dry throughout the drive.
Even without the Cup Chassis, still an incredible car. Definitely my favourite of the 3, so much so that I've put a deposit down.

...Just kidding!
Although it's interesting to note that they do 0% finance on brand new models and allow you to pay whatever deposit you like. It's only available over 2/3 year period though. Probably very silly to buy brand new but definitely an idea if it's what I definitely wanted.

Loved that car though, want to try one with the Cup pack or a Cup variant. Just felt like a nice place to see, plenty of light inside unlike the Megane, very good driving position, perhaps could be a little lower although I imagine the Cup would change that slightly?
Very nice little revvy engine and will happily sit in a high gear at 30mph. Standard seats are very comfortable and supportive, not sure that Recaros are necessary? Then again I haven't driven or been a passenger in a car with Recaros.
Brakes again needed some giving before they were responsive but they were brilliant once they had gotten going.

It was just an all round brilliant car, a shame that there wasn't much fuel in it though so I was hesitant to give it lots! Definitely something to think about...

I've seen a few in white, and I know they seem like the most common colour, but they did look bloody awesome!

Having said that, I think racing blue is a fantastic colour, even though I disliked it when I first started looking for a 182.

Well couple days ago i got stopped by the police at the end of my road, i had to accelerate quite hard out of the junction (its a busy road, you can sit there for 5 minutes). Cross the junction, up in to second gear, BRAAA BANG BANG BANG POP BANG....cop car sitting in the road opposite. Asked me a few questions about the exhaust, whether it was road legal..... technically i didn't lie, the "exhaust" is road legal :p Thankfully it was wet, and my car is so low he didn't bother checking the decat. I explained i live around the corner and on cold starts the car runs a little rich. He told me to get it sorted and sent me off with a warning.

Is a popping exhaust actually illegal, or do they just class it as anti-social behaviour?

Also tonight on the way home from work, police where stopping barry cars on the way out of bognor regis, no idea why, they were stopping a few cars to chat and there was 3 cars pulled over by unmarked cars. After the incident a couple days ago i was pooping myself :p Cruised through though, does that mean im not a chav now? :D
