Who here owns a Renaultsport?

PICS NOW PLEASE!!!!!

Haha, I want to know if I should get my spare set sprayed the same way, or whether to get them done the same as my current ones (Arctic Blue with Silver writing), but with a better colour match. I'm edging towards getting them done the same, with a better colour match, as I really like how it looks.

Right guys, I'm now in a predicament about getting a Clio. I wanted a 182 and had my heart set on one. I saw the liquid yellow Clio which I fell in love with but the seller will only drop from £5750 to £5500. Now then I realise this is a lot of money for a Clio but it's beautiful and has some amazing mods (see previous page). However I had a look at some 172's and they are £2000-£3000 cheaper and are basically the same car in a different colour... I absolutely love the Monaco blue 172's as they remind me of the Clio Williams.

I have the money to pay for the liquid yellow but is it defiantly worth the money or is it overpriced?

Depends how badly you want the colour? I had my heart set on one for a while but realised that deep down they're all the same so went for something cheaper that's just as much fun.
If I were you I'd put ~£4k towards a decent 182.

If you plan on doing all these mods yourself then it, from memory, seemed to be reasonable providing the tyres & brakes have lots of life left in them etc.

If you want to do the mods yourself be prepared to take a hit on them as they won't add much value to the car itself.

Liquid yellow will always hold a premium over other examples.

Sounds to me like you're not sure yourself. See if there's anything else he can add in to sweeten the deal like a full tank and some of the stock parts?

I spent about £1k on mods on mine (remap, ds2500s & hc's & lines, milltek) and took just over a £1300 depreciation hit on it after almost 6k miles largely due to the release of the 200 and the 172's/182's coming down in price. For this reason again personally I wouldn't be happy putting over £5k back in to a Clio when you can get just as tidy examples in more common colours for a lot less. Out of interest how would an insurance company view it's value, I doubt they would take it's rarity due to colour in to consideration?

You will get a nice 182 for around £4k. Paying £5.5k just because its yellow is a bad idea, in my opinion.

But it is only my opinion.

The car is overpriced, theres no question about it. The only question to ask is if you are willing to pay the premium.

Theres a nice 270bhp 182 turbo for sale atm for £4500 with 34k miles. When you put that against a 182 for £5700 because its yellow...

As promised

Hope that helps SS! In terms of aesthetics I'm DONE! Considering getting the wheel re-stiched and need to get a new head unit for inside.

Broken one of my centre air vents :(
The one on the left won't slide left to right, only up and down. Had the bits out and found the source of the problem -

Trying to source a replacement one!

Looks great Gustov! :)

Very tidy little 182.

Mines will be going in for a machine polish and full detail. Been told £60 - £100 sound reasonable to me?

Sounds a bit cheap to be honest. Do you know the guy thats doing it or seen any of his work?

Friends brother, so I guess it is a bit cheap. Also had a chap from CS (also posts on DW) for £80.

Both work is very good, and would feel confident with either of them doing it.

Sounds cheap for a proper 'correction'. About right for a valet/detail without a machine polish.

For a proper correction including clay, polish, seal, engine bay, interior the lot to what I'd call an anal standard between £200/300 and to leave it with them for 2 days or so.

If he's just going to buzz over it with a soft pad and light cutting compound which would remove about 50-60% of swirls/defects then maybe sounds about right.

Its his hobby, not a full correction I would imagine. But he is needing it for the whole weekend, regardless for that price I am going to be happy.

Another of his work.

Looks good Begbie seems like you're grabbing yourself a bargain! Was just looking out for you so your car doesn't end up worse than it was when it went in!!
