Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I've joined cliosport.net and been trawling piston heads for 3 weeks. I can't find these decent examples of 182 FF for £4k that you speak of. Reading what other people are putting on cliosport you are looking at paying £5k for a good condition 182 FF with average miles. I think if you are telling me that I can find one then I need some evidence first or a few examples of these cars.

I didn't mean to come across as an arse, I'm sorry and I appreciate the help you have/are giving me.

That was mine, sold to Maccy as we are school friends :)

They are there if you look hard.

While we're talking about specs...

With the Cup suspension pack on the 182 (normally as part of a FF), what actually is it? And is it possible to retrofit it? How does a 182 without the Cup suspension pack but with aftermarket coilovers compare with a 182 with the Cup suspension pack?

Can't really compaire to coilovers as a generalisation, as they vary wildly from cheap and rubbish to expensive and excellent. I would say a half decent set of coilovers will always be better than standard cup suspension.

The 182 Cup suspension involves different shocks and springs and wishbones. It's a fairly major job to retro fit it to a non cup 182. Fortunately it appears the Renault dealers were on commission as there seems to be more 182's out there with the cup packs than those without.

Lol sorry. I'd have any colour bar black. Shows up too many imperfections.

Im starting to think the reason why you cannot find a Clio you like it because you actually have no idea what it is your looking for.

Maccy didn't want a black car but realised that he had a very good deal on offer to him.

If you're being too fussy then you'll never find one within budget. Have a preference but don't instantly dismiss any examples that are black.

Funnily enough I didn't want another black car but behold my replacement is in fact black as it ticked all the boxes bar color. A black car isn't that hard to maintain if you care for it properly and it looks the nuts when polished properly.

guys, how much would you say this clio 172 is worth

mint condition, 60k on clock, iceberg silver with a few subtle mods (silver turinis, cup spoiler, brake upgrades - brembo hc, ds2500/lines, decat) near full service history, loads of receipts, hpi clear. with all standard parts included in sale too.

There are plenty, and for less money.

I have a high mileage, but all motorway, 1 owner 182FF in fantastic condition with FRSH, belts, tensioners and dephaser pulley just done as well as a re-con gearbox, new discs and pads all round, braided lines etc. etc.

Just £3k.

I believe it is just the hub that differs on the 182 Cup. Wishbones are the same.

Seen as we know you didn't buy it from new, its at least 2 owners... among other things.

Good point. Are the drive shafts different on the Cup suspension?

You seem to be suggesting that the rest of my description is inaccurate as well.

Had an attempt at cleaning up my headlights today as they were looking really shabby. They seem to have cleaned up rather well considering I didn't use a machine polisher on them. I need to work more on the passenger side light though as it hasn't turned out as well as the drivers side. Half an hour sanding will probably sort it out but I just can't be bothered starting it again as it takes quite a bit of patience and elbow grease! :p

Silvervision bulbs fitted today, along with removing the seat belt beeping noise, upgrading the stupid Trophy wiper (Renault added the basic wiper stalk, so no choice of intermittent speed, so sway to a Dynamique version).

Also added a Tunepoint so I can listen to my iPod/usb stick with the standard Renault HU.

Can't wait to enter Mk2 ownership shortly :) Will be picking up an Iceberg silver 172 cup on 57k next weekend :D

FYI, there is not a chance people in here are making nigh on 200bhp with filters, exhausts e.t.c They are visitng dream land dyno's/

I had an F4R fitted to my mk1 clio with Jenveys and Catcam 421's, results as below. I can also say Jenveys are good but for anyone thinking of cams i wouldnt bother.
