Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Got some more bits through the post...

New pair of wishbones ready for stripping & painting, tack the shells in and then put the polybushes in. For £15 it made much more sense to get another pair, than take my car off the road for over a day to install the bushes into my current wishbones. Does anybody know the cheapest place for lower ball joints?

EDIT: Nvm! Found some for £7, not gonna get much cheaper than that!

Finally found a suitable material for the door cards. Just need to be brave and start cutting

The more I look at your car alexisomfire, the more I grow to like the 2118s. Think I may try for them when I can afford to change my wheels

I really need to get some touch up paint for my car, the door edges are bad from the previous owner, and there's a couple of random bits that need a touch. It really needs a good clean first though, so much tar. Would claying it get rid of most of the tar, or should I be looking at something like Tardis?

Both, use a tar remover for the worst, and then clay the whole car to get the non visible stuff off!

Nice :D

Okay, moar pennies req :( where do people get their detailing stuff from? The 2 I know are polished bliss and i4detailing. Looking maybe into a kit, polished bliss do an auto finesse kit but I'm more tempted by poorboys stuff and wondered if anyone did a kit for them.

The £7 ball joints aren't the Q Drive ones from Euro Car Parts are they? If so avoid like the plague, I bought some and ended up binning them and buying the Lemforder ones instead.

Just came back from a long day in dorset after having my car at ktec all day!

Had dephaser, aux belt, tensioner, cambelt, oil change, oil filter, new camber bolts (one had threaded and coming loose) 438 cams and a dyno remap. I was told right off not to expect any crazy gains after they dyno'd the car when it came in. They said the car was already running very well from there first dyno (it has already been remapped). I had it dyno'd previously @ 176.6bhp on eurotech rollers, on ktec's rollers it made 176bhp :p

Some photos!

Inlets off, cam cover next!

Mapping time

So the car made 190bhp & 162lbft peak. The difference the service and mapping has made is huge, the car is soooooooooooo smooth and just sounds healthy. I'm not going to make things up like a lot of people do. The car doesn't suddenly feel like i've added masses of power, because i haven't, but the car certainly pulls much better from low down and absolutely screams all the way up to 7000rpm. Before, it just used to make lots of noise from 6000 upwards but not really make much progress. With the more aggressive cam timing, matched with my straight through exhaust...the flames out the back are good fun :D I have the option of going back and tweeking the cams even more to get a few bhp but this would be to the cost of normal driving (it wouldn't idle as well so could possibly stall a lot. Very happy and can't wait to get it on track!

One outside ktec!

No idea! They aren't listed as branded...

It's shocking isn't it, the amount of people that try to tell me mines has been in a smash at some point is embarrassing!

O and yeah - sort a video out :D

I have a video but its fairly terrible haha. I slightly misjudged the distance the gopro needed to be away from the car + how dark it is outside. So its resulted in a pitch black video from miles away from the car (super wide angle). The exhaust was cold too so theres not much flaming! Its torrential rain here at the moment and i was spinning the wheels in 4th (595rsr) so an in car video is no no for now! :p

Out of interest do clio owners simply upgrade disks and pads when looking at the brakes or do they tend to go for bigger brake conversions? Is the standard setup quite good to begin with?

The general concensus is that the standard brakes on the 1*2 aren't too good. The common upgrade is Brembo HC discs and Ferrodo DS2500 pads, braided lines too if you like.
