Back on the the hunt. Found this one about an hour away from me:

Only problem is that it hasn't had the cambelt changed which is a £450 job at 519 automotive. As a result he said the lowest he would go would be £3250. Does that sound a bit steep still to you guys?

What are peoples thoughts on the new K-tec induction kit, it does on the face of things appear to give some gains.

It should have had the cambelt changed at least once at that age, next change shouldn't be due until its 10 in 2014. Should be every 5 years or 72K miles.

If its not been changed at all, I'd walk as that would ring other alarm bells with me with regards to how its been maintained.

alexisonfire can you post your dyno sheet, i made very similar results to you and just want to compare the graphs curves e.t.c (i made 192bhp/ 166ft lb)

A few more details for the Mk4 RS confirmed in Evo magazine this month.

The Mk4 RS will come in at around 1200kg, and while the 5 door design makes it look much bigger, its aparently only slightly larger than the current 200 model.

They confirmed that there will be no manual gearbox option for the RS, only a 6 speed flappy paddle with a dual clutch. :(

And they confirmed that the engine in it will be the current engine of the moment for Nissan, that being the 1.6 turbo 4 cylinder from the Nissan Juke. As standard it puts out 187bhp, but Evo confirmed that in RS tune it would produce "more than the 197bhp of the current Clio 200". How much more is anyones guess.

The Juke engine is certainly flavour of the month at the moment with it being put in a bunch of cars, and also being pushed hard by Nissan in motorsport. It is the same engine that sat in the back of the Nissan DeltaWing and comfortably hammered it around Le Mans for 6 hours while tuned to 300bhp. I expect tunes of up to 250bhp should be easy without to much hassle or expense.

Launch price will be 'around £18,000' and as usual there will be a Cup version too, so one assumes the now expected combination of standard car and Cup chassis models will also be available.

No idea on if or when the Clio Cup race series are going to switch to the Mk4. One assumes 2013 if thats the year they are launching the new Clio and the new RS model.

That definitely should have had the Cambelt done by now!

If the owner(s) has been too ***** to change the cambelt what else have they skimped on...

I'm tempted, but as they had over £1K of my money last month I think I'll wait a bit to save my wallet :p.

I've always fancied an induction kit purely from the noise. From what I'd read previously to this new K-Tec one being released, all the induction kits on the market lost you power apart from the ITG Maxogen which kept same power as stock... but that's stupidly expensive so I just left it as "I'll buy a Maxogen if I ever see one cheap". But now the K-Tec one allegedly gains a couple of horsepower and is a good bit cheaper than the Maxogen I'll get one of them instead.

I asked him again, he said he is not sure when it was done by previous owners. Will it be ticked off in the service manual at all? Will have a look at it wednesday and check it over.

The garage that did mine under the original owner hadn't ticked it off in the service manual, but it was on one of the invoices in the folder they had. £500 it was IIRC.

Not that I needed to see the invoice - as they were family I could just trust their word :p.

Ok cheers. I'll have a look through that then. If needs be I'll just try to knock him off the price of a cambelt and get it changed at a renault sport specialist near me.

Looks like my Clio prefers V-Power, managed 44.2mpg yesterday on a run back from Brighton!

Since I've had mine I've only ever run it on V-Power, apart from two months when I used Sainsburys Super Unleaded. During said two months an Injector died, so after replacing the Injector I swore never to use supermarket fuel again and gone back to V-Power.

According to Road Trip, my average is 33.5MPG and my best tank was 38.5MPG.

V-Power is always what I will try to buy if I can

Tesco 99 RON seems to be ok, as is BP Ultimate but everything else does appear to lose quite a few MPGs
