Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Car into the garage to get them to investigate the clunk as moving off from stationary as well as minor now minor creaking with slow manoeuvring.

Waiting with bated breath...bloody car!

edit: suspected ball joint(s), coming in at about a ton inc. VAT...not as bad as could have been, hoping that the garage is right and this doesn't turn into a game of find the fault!

One Miltek fitted! :D sounds nice.not had much chance to drive it apart from to the Garage for Mot.

Tried to put the cv boot band on, could we hell as like even especially with the chuffing tool. Think my dads going to sell it on fleabay as I don't see how it will work on a car without having the driveshaft off:rolleyes:

So fingers crossed he'll have it done for the end of tommorow, otherwise I'm not off to the Cliosport show :(

Bloody pain in the arse cv gaiters are!

Leave tomorrow for a 3 day camping/trackday weekend, cannot ****ing wait! Haven't been on track since feburary and i've been going crazy! Been too busy with work, and too skint with fixing/servicing/upgrading the car to actually enjoy it. whooooooo

Nice. Where you going?

Only blyton, but its going to be an epic weekend of camping + BBQ's at the track with loads of mates!

I made sure i've packed the two most essential things for getting me through the 5 hour journey... :D:p

ARGH.

I had an on-street parking fail and have curbed one of my 182 Cup wheels. And annoyingly out of my two sets it was this darker set that is my favourite :(.

Soo annoyed with myself . Because always parking on a driveway I'm out of practice with on-street parking and the road had a bit of a curve to it which caught me out.

Hmm, refurb or just get a set of Anthracite Turinis?

Turns out the ball joint doesn't come on its own (despite the claims of Eurocarparts, which sells the wrong part). One suspension arm and £317 later the car is back to full health...

Stuck some more fuel in after playing around chasing down Dad in the Westfield. Might not be completely accurate as it wasn't a whole tank full, but apparently in the 182 I did 17MPG ... and not surprisingly given that he has 500BHP/Tonne I still lost :D.

17mpg giving it the right foot isn't bad at all imo.

I seen less in my old Astra, and that was no where near as much fun.

Yeah your never chasing a Westfield :P

Saying that I was pushing a CBR 600 around some corners in N.Wales the other weekend :D

You've been had. I've had 2 replaced at about £15 each.

Lowest MPG I ever got was 9 on a single full bore run up Cheddar Gorge at about 6:30 in the morning :)

No hadding had, I did my reading. Different car to yours, and the Renault dealer agreed
http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=9362
(read the whole thread, they go through a brief phase where they think it's doable to replace just the ball joint but they change their mind)

The mechanic said he got two different ones from two different suppliers and they were both the wrong part - he then spoke to the Renault garage who said something similar to the above thread which I read before going to the garage.

Looking good captain, a little high though! :p

Quick video from saturday, sorry about the angle, i need to get a ball head for my gopro :p

I've rotated it as much as possible without cutting the important stuff out, its not too bad if you stick it in HD and full screen :)

Thanks! I am planning on getting some Sportlines at some point soon, the car looks nice and low at the moment when I'm sat in it though! :p

Have you got the pops and bangs map on in that video?

Looks like blyton might be worth a visit at some point for me, specially seeing as its only about 20mins from me!

Soo had another spot of bother with my car (dammit) got some right wobbling near Newark on my way home at motorway speeds. Even checked to see if the wheels were still tight :D

Went to the local Kwik Fit (round the corner) as they're of the pretty good kind, had the wheel balancing done (a crapload of weights needed :/ ) and then the tracking done. Tracking took about 15 minutes after the rig was set up, it was a country mile out. I reckon next year it wants hunter machining before I take it on track. Not had chance to take it out to check yet but fingers crossed.

Whilst it was up on the ramp, was looking at the manifold to cat bolt being massively wonky. Turns out on one side the hex has nearly completely rusted so it's slipped between the gap on the manifold FML. It Explains firstly the whistle, secondly the new exhaust being a little louder now than when I fitted it, and the damn annoying rattle it had with the windows down when letting off the throttle. Time to order more parts :(
