Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Does anyone else hear a very fast almost ticking/metallic hiss when giving it some revs in low gears, especially when driving close to hedges/walls? Or am I just hearing noises that aren't there?

All belts were all done 7k ago.

might be your cat to manifold joint. srs. check the bolts are compressing the springs or if its a bit slack.

redid my joint today as something was blowing. turns out not to be that joint so now I have to redo all the joints on the centre section and clean all the sealant off fml.

Nothing too bad, still annoying. Was picking someone up last night and didn't pay attention, clipped a centre island that to be fair, sticks out a little ;) - split sidewall and no spare. Foam didn't do anything.

I'm having a new tyre put on today, but on closer inspection, I'm worried I may have done a bit more damage. Part of the shock absorber seems to have dropped down, put my hand up there and have oil all over my fingers.

Ah how I've missed good brakes, new discs and RC5+ fitted on Sunday. Previous owner was a knob though and put loctite on the retaining pins on the caliper which made them stupidly hard to get out, will have to get new ones next pad change.

Next up are AD08s being fitted tomorrow ready for Germany next week! Would be nice to match my Megane time but think it'll depend on how busy it is and ball size on the day.

What does OcUK think of the mk4 RS clio?

Was originally looking at getting the 200 but not buying till around may next year and the mk4 will be out by then so probably pick up one of those instead.

We don't really know much about it, other than the hype over on ClioSport. If it's not available as a manual I wouldn't be overly disappointed, nor would I be disappointed if it was 5 door only.

Its a 5 door only running a 1.6 turbo engine (same as in the Nissan Juke) tuned to 'around 200bhp'. Thats been confirmed. The Mk4 range has been said to be lighter than the equivilent Mk3, but we don't yet know if that extends to the RS models.

Its a dual clutch flappy paddle system too, there will be no manual option available in the RS. There will be the usual 'normal' and Cup chassis options, but probubly a bunch of middle ground stuff so expect there to be a Full Fat style one too.

Overall it looks quite good. The 5 door shape seems to hide the rear doors well. The turbo also means extra power should be easy, much better than the thousands of pounds for a handful of BHP out of the current NA engines.

The only issue for me though, is why would you buy one over a Megane RS?

Getting a short squeak whenever I accelerate/brake or go over a speed bump, and it's doing my nut in when the window is down! Any ideas? I'm guessing something suspension related...

Got myself a KA at the moment with the spoiler, first car, don't laugh haha, but I'm hoping to get a 182 in the next 5-6months. What's the insurance like for a 18 y/o?

Not possible. It's group 16 (In old groups) so unless you want to spend more than the car costs on 3rd party insurance, I would learn to drive properly in your KA first. Then consider something like a 182 in a couple of years.

Yeah don't bother. Plenty of fun can be had in a KA anyway, well if they drive anything like the Fiesta. I had loads of fun throwing it around B roads. Yeah it wasn't fast but it was revvy and had go kart like handling.

Plus you don't need to worry (as much) about scrapes, dings, binning it as much.

Most fun car i've owned was my 1ltr 106 :p That thing lived to be ragged, right up to the day the head gasket blew and the engine ate its self. Don't think about getting a 182 so early, you will peek far too quickly on the car tree, not to mention insurance will be absolutely insane (probably 4k+) and its best to get experience first.
