I think I've got a bit of an itch for the 250/265 even though I know I have more pressing financial issues to take care of first :/....
Do it! You can pickup lightly used examples cheaper than new 200's. The facelift 265 has helped lower the 250 prices also.
Im loving my 250 Cup it feels a lot more special than the other RenaultSports ive owned previously. I guess part of that is due to the rarity but also the Mk3 Megane platform feels a very modern, well designed place to be indeed.

Im looking to buy one of these soon, a 230, sub 50k miles , spending about £8k anything I should look out for? Do you like it so far?
No real updates from me, as I've had a knee operation and thus haven't been driving.
Going to be sorting the Exhaust mounts out though within a few weeks as it was rattling on the rear exhaust surround like mad before I had my operation. Tigerseal/other similar product is going to be the way I think. Bit more forgiving than what I was originally going to do. Also, not paying £60 for 2 ofthe racing mounts. Not until I've tried out a cheaper method![]()
Might be due an oil change too as its done 5k and from what I've seen people seem to reccomend 6k changes on them?
Other than a proper clean, theres not a lot more to say. Think I need to get the alignment done properly as I think my tyres are edging a bit.
Just had my 5 year service done on my R26 which unfortunately meant I had all the following doing.
5 Year service - Motul Engine oil 5w - 40, Oil filter, Pollen filter diagnostic check.
Cambelt + tensioners
Auxiliary belt & tensioners
Camshaft end seals
Water pump
Then I knew it was coming soon, but not this soon and had to have new disks and brake pads all round.
Total bill: £1406
Bad times being Christmas, but safe to say K-Tec did a decent job. Was planning on going for their performance package when it went in but unfortunately with the brakes it will have to wait for the future.
I think they saw you coming! £1400 quid is a lot of cash even for the cambelt which is known to be steep on these and taking into account the other bits youve had done.
