Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Back in with Mick at Diamond Motors on Friday morning for front brake discs and pads. Going with Brembo's and standard Brembo pads. Having the brake fluid bled and changed as I think there is air in one of the ABS modules causing the weird farting noise - Daveski will testify it's an odd noise!!

Yeah that was a very strange noise!

I am missing my 172 so much right now. Being a passenger at Bedford on Saturday hasn't helped.

Mines still sat on the drive waiting to be fixed. I miss having it about now, and really need to sort it out to get it back on the road.

GFs mum is visiting this weekend, so perfect time to get out of the house and work on it :D

Strange and annoying. Everytime I pull off after first starting the car or take a corner quickly and the esp kicks in or need to stop quickly.

Has anyone got braided brake hoses? If so, are they rated for road use? Where's best to pick some up?

My 182 is SORN'd for a while whilst I sort a few things (finances!) so I'm driving a 1.25 Fiesta :(

I want to take this opportunity to sort a few bits though, whilst I don't mind it being in pieces.

Things to do so far;

Alloy refurb & repair some body paint chips.
Power steering pump sounds like it's on its way out (screeching on full lock whilst parking).
New tyres.

Things that I've done recently;
Track rod ends
Ball joints
All discs and pads

It had all belts done about 14k ago and I had its basic service done a couple thousand ago.

Any suggestions for anything else to do? Not looking at power. Perhaps small handling modifications?

Thanks.

Yeah a Whiteline ARB makes a big difference.

I've bought a headlight restoration kit to sort out my cloudy lights at the weekend, along with everything else.

So i went to brands hatch yesterday and had an amazing time. Absolutely love the track and it was even better than my first time there. In the morning the track was VERY slippery, i don't think i've seen so many off's in one morning, thankfully nothing written off though.

Which leads me to this...one of those incidents may have been me :p

The car is fine (although the exhaust did fall off at the end of the day but its fixed now) and the only thing that hurts is my pride :p I came into surtees a tad to hot for the conditions (about 90mph) had to lift off and got into a huge slide. I managed to catch the slide but the car violently snapped back and spat me off over the grass from surtees to clark curve. My mate who was following behind at the time has the whole thing on video but its only on my FB for now, hes uploading it to youtube later!

I wasn't expecting the cage to make any difference because its only bolt in, but the car was extremely lively at brands yesterday (a lot more than usual) which it has never done before. I can only presume it was because the rear has been stiffened up a tad. It was literally oversteering on every corner when it was wet, i think in future i might need to change the rear ARB settings to soft in the wet. The car felt fantastic in the dry though, so chuckable now its funny, and i don't think i got overtaken all day!

Uploading video's as we speak, but here's some photos :)

Anti roll bar? Looks like a simple handling mod

Whiteline ARB makes a massive difference, the clio should have came with a rear ARB from standard, but i can understand why renault thought it might be a bit hardcore for the general public.

Didn't know you had put a cage in. Looks good, and glad that you managed to avoid any collisions.

I need to do Brands, but it gets really expensive throughout the summer, and none of my mates seem interested in it :(

Looks like you had a lot of fun! I'm looking forward to the video.

Wish i could drive my 182 :(

Is cliosport down again?

Photobucket seems to have messed up the sizes of some of them, they were all equal before I uploaded them! I've had pictures removed for being too large on here before hence the links! :)

First video, this is 1080p and the best quality i could render it in, so enjoy some full screenage if you view on youtube :)

The spin...by the looks of it, i miss a bird by a few inches, you can see it fly off as i slide past!

FFS some sport lines (well used) came up in Leeds just at the wrong time.

There was also a full very slightly used set of cup shocks, and sport lines for £250. Damn you cambelt!

In other news, new tyres and an alignment on a hunter machine will be done soon, then trackday!
