Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I have just bought a clio sport 182 04 reg, its currentley on 53k miles and has not had the cambelt done yet, is this a concern as the book says every 72k miles?

It's every 5 years or 72k. I'm very surprised it was not done by a previous owner, should've been done 3/4 years ago. Get it booked it in asap.

LOL, is this a recall for the bonnet catch that itself was a previous recall upgraded part :o. My 182 had the bonnet catch changed a few years ago due to a recall.

So did mine apparently, it's due another one.

joeboy, if you go to a specialist (519 Automotive, BTM, Diamond Motors), it will cost in the region of £450 for cam and aux belt. Head on over to ClioSport if you're not already a member, the specialists are listed under the traders and usually have their latest prices.

That's not too bad I suppose, get the belts changed asap though - you don't want one going because then you'll have a nasty repair bill!

Whats this bonnet catch recall all about? Mines broken!

Renault seem to be asking drivers to bring it in to check the catch again. They tend to get rusty and stiff unless lubed up. Can cause the bonnet to not correctly shut and fly open when driving.

Joeboy get it checked in as soon as :) Before that though get some pics up :) and join cliosport too, it is worth the 12 pounds fee.

Not happy with my local dealer.

Contacted them a few weeks ago regarding the recent recall about bonnet mechanisms failing and I was informed that my vehicle had no safety recall and was fine.
Fast forward to today and I've received a letter via recorded post asking me to book my vehicle in to have the bonnet mechanism looked at!

The letter is being sent to every Mk2 owner regardless or whether their car has been sorted or not. When you then ring up the dealer after receiving the letter, they will look it up to see if you've had it done yet.

That's definitely bad, and is like the first thing I'd check when looking at buying one second hand!

Yeah i sort of knew it was going to need the cambelt doing soonish just wasnt sure when, only paid 2400 for it though, 53k miles and is basically mint condition.

I'd always be wary of an owners ability to keep a car mint if they can't be bothered to get the cam belt changed. Its only about 4-5 years over due :p.

Guys, does anyone know where iI can get a reasonable price 02 sensor that lives just before the cat?

Get one from North West Performance. Cheapest price on the internet.

Just make sure you state that you want a pre-cat lambda.

Went to see Fred at BTM on Saturday as he had a few spare injectors lying around to replace my broken one. It cured my flashing EML at idle and miss-fire problem after I swapped them out which is awesome. Total cost to diagnose and solve the problem was £20 (OBDII, Torque Pro app, Replacement injector). Winning!

Got my car booked in with him for a full service and belts on Friday just to be on the safe side. Nice guy and very eager to show off his projects! His V6 Clio is awesome...

113,000 miles and 5 track days and mine is fine.

(tempted fate now, you watch it explode soon).

2 rebuilds, 3rd synchromesh seems to be the one. £1500 due to a very inept so called specialist repairing a gearbox caused it to fail just 50 miles later. Expensive little motors these are. :)

Where was that? From what I hear agency transmissions is the place to go.
