Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Where was that? From what I hear agency transmissions is the place to go.

A place near RS Tuning in Leeds, in the same complex. Don't really want to say who, but it was reconditioned a second time buy somebody else.

Very big job, just about the whole of the front of the car needs removing!

I'm not booked in for driving but I am tempted to head along and watch.

Although I only saw the thread this week (Doh!) and don't have the time booked off work.

Had the bonnet catch done under the recall by the dealer this morning. Commented on how they don't see many RenaultSports, and how good it looks in black . Did a 25-point healthcheck jobber looking to quote for more work, but all came out as green :).

My exhaust fell off as i turned into my road coming back from work, seems the bodge job didn't hold for very long (result of my off at brands hatch)! Need to try and fix it before monday, sorry mum!

Also got my letter through today for the recall, i should probably get that done asap as well as my latch IS actually broken!

Been an expensive week; belts, tensioners and dephaser, front disc and pads, 4 new rainsports (being fitted now), borsh areo wipers, exhaust hanger, new Bluetooth stereo, and a new brake switch to try and sort out the serv/esp lights coming up.

Good job I managed to pick it up cheap.

Also brought a pressure washer to aid keeping it clean

Hopefully no more expensive bills for a while.

Found out about the bonnet catch issue last week from this thread.

However today I've received my recorded delivery recall letter.

I've only had my 03 reg 1.2 (shame it isn't a renaultsport) for the last 16months and the other week I had to pull the release whilst someone else lifted the bonnet as it wouldn't unlock and pop up fully. Although after a bit of WD-40, the release catch (passenger footwell) seemed to control the little catch/blade bit fine.

Unsure on whether this is due to the catch being poor or lack of maintenance for the rest of the time I've owned it + previous owners. Hopefully I can oil/clean it up to fix it before I take it to renault for inspection and then I remember to oil/check it every time I clean or check water/oil/tyre levels.

Hopefully renault don't just look at the catch and think oh its old it needs replacing leaving me paying out £95 if it seems mine is alright although it probably wasnt due to having isses opening ?

My new Clio 200. Wasn't particularly interested in the new 200T, and have always been itching for one of these.

Recaros but no cup pack. I.e, perfect :) (I know, the park isn't)

What made you steer clear of the cup packs? I did a 3 hour run in cup packed recaros to Bath and felt fine after.

Original owner of my 182 (who was selling it as their 200 had just arrived) reckoned the perfect combination was for the Recaros and Cup Chassis, but not the spoiler... whereas on the 182 they'd got both Cup Packs and no Recaros.

Yeah the spoiler is marmite on the 197/200. I'd always have cup suspension on any of the models. It's what its made for after all.

I purchased the car from the Renault Retail site (pre-registered, technically used but only with 17 miles on the clock), so there was limited availability with regards to specification. Some had the full blown spec, but at a cost. I saw a liquid yellow with the cup chassis and spoiler, recaros, cruise control, keyless entry etc, but it had already gone when I contacted the dealer (mortified). I would have gone for that one, despite the cost increase, for sale-ability in the future, but that one had already gone.

In all fairness mine was a compromise, I loved the colour and the fact it had recaros, and for the price I paid I was more than happy to forgo the cup chassis. Had I bought it new I would have spec'd it, however only for the benefit of selling it on?

Having test drove the 200 with cup chassis and now completing 700 miles in the non-cup, there is a difference. However, my car will never be going out on a track day whilst she is in my possession, and I am more than impressed with the handling she offers in current guise.

As for the cup spoiler, well, my mind changes daily on whether or not I want it. Sometimes I feel they look awful, other times I'm ready to buy one.

Needs the optional cornering headlights to finish off the front ;)
Does it have the uprated stereo with USB wingman?

Are these easy to retro-fit?

My 200 doesn't. It was registered in December 2012, should it have it included?

I noticed one thing, the brake disks look rusty brown already? Is that normal? I only picked it up mid Feb, guess it had been sitting around since December?

No the USB isnt standard, its part of the uprated Stereo that supports bluetooth handsfree. So its another optional extra that wasnt spec'd :(

Yeah they are a straight swap to retro-fit. I did it to my 200 Cup as i wanted to fit HIDs and needed the projector style lenses to focus the beam. You just dont have them moving with the steering wheel as that part of the loom isn't present unless spec'd.

Guys,

Quick question. Guy at the garage wants to buy my 182 wheels. They could do with a refurb and the tyres are very very nearly needing replaced.

Much should I be charging? Wasn't really want to get rid of them, but I'm sure I can cope with my F1s instead.

£150?
