Who here owns a Renaultsport?

just had my Renewal quote come through from Adrian Flux, and my premium has gone up yet again
they want £490 (last year was £450)

did a quote with Direct Line (same details) and they want £320 !!

going to give Sky Insurance a call as they've been good in the past for me

anyone else I could try?

Thanks

Would love my insurance to go below £500 tbh.

EDIT - just done a quick quote with DirectLine and they quoted me £377 with 0 voluntary excess - crazy!!

Not until next January, and I'll be 25 then so I guess that's a big factor too. Greenlight said when I took out the policy this year that my renewal price should jump down after 25. Guess that's the next big age gap!

Small update on my Clio 172 anyways, fitted the Scorpion Exhaust, didn't bother with the decat as couldn't be bothered with emissions issues come MOT time. May still fit it, but not yet. Exhaust is louder than standard, looks wise.. I hate it. Looks like a massive cannon sticking out of the rear. Price wise.. got to live with it for now £70 for a complete stainless exhaust inc decat is a bargain in anyone's eyes..

Next up was repairing the leaky washer bottle, simple fix and repaired using araldite.. perfect :D

After that I picked up some Turinis, they need a refurb so will be getting them powdercoated. Tyre choice, Federal 595 RS-R.

Quick inspection found the brakes worn, so ordered EBC Red Stuff for the front and standard for the rear.

Lastly, picked up an RSTuner, going to be installing the 98Ron map... Cant wait for the cal file (Download on website giving me an error!)

So.. been a busy couple of weeks of ownership. Any recommendations on mods next?

Does it sound better MrKnifey?

Just to throw my two pence in, my insurance at 23 years old on a Clio 200 (fully comp, obvs) is....

£220

Sorry...

now come you lot get cheaper insurance than me?

im in a good postcode area, im 35, 7 years protected NCB, driving for 11 years, fully comp is (will be) £300 or so

ooh and no accidents or convictions

Thank ****, I paid £541 this year and I'm older than you :D

Then again, all mods declared and was actually honest with my mileage - 12k.

Wooo parts order just arrived, this is my final resort to sorting out the exhaust hanger squeak!
New genuine exhaust mount, new metal bracket for the hanger to screw into, and a replacement screw so that I have 3 screws holding the mount in place rather than 2!

Ordered a new aerial base as well as I think the last one I ordered was a 2nd hand dodgy one.

I went through Greenlight this week for mine

Renewal was £420 with mods declared at 25 with 8 years no claims

£220 is silly cheap!!

I will give them a call, thanks :)

I only do 6k miles a year, I'm still surprised at how cheap a quote direct line have given me though...

I put down upto 8K

oh and I have no mods

Comparison website gives me £865 for my Standard 182 at 30, with 4 years ncb and 1 claim over 3 years ago.

Direct line wanted £1040.

Crappy Post code unfortunately (NG5)

Not looking forward to my renewal, but it's not due till September, so I’ll start worrying about it then.
