Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Anyone running uprated dogbone mounts on there clio?

I've just ordered a Evol Engineering dogbone from off the CS forum, as i think mine is causing a bit of knocking, and gear changes crunch between 2nd and 3rd at high revs.

Just hoping it's not going to cause lots of vibration, as if it's bad i'll probably end up going back to OE in the future. There newer design with softer bushes and sleeves supposedly helps, but not seen much talk of them.

You went with Bluefin eh? I went the RSTuner (fastchip.nl) route for my Meg250. Henk certainly knows his stuff and is well respected on the Clio side of things.

I also heard mixed results about Bluefin throwing error codes if there are other mods present, too much air and running rich etc.

I was looking at them but I couldn't find much info. Can you reset and sell the device on if you take you map off? How much did it cost you?

I have Powerflex bushes in my dogbone. It used to knock on hard gear changes or if I hit the limiter. The poly bushes added minimal additional vibration and stopped any knocking and banging caused by my bad driving :)

It cost me £403 all in after exchange rates and postage.
And yes it essentially works like a copy/paste format, So I have copied my original ECU program to my laptop and have pasted on his modified remap (hopefully that makes sense).

I can just revert the process whenever I want and sell it on to the next owner. All they need to do is purchase a license file (€198) to unlock the unit to their car.

Girlfriend is having a bit of trouble with her 182.

Basically it failed its MOT on emissions. The guy doing the MOT said it's overfuelling because even without a CAT the readings wouldn't be so high.

We've taken the car to Renault and the code was relating to the lambda p01030? Bank 1 which is the pre cat lambda.
We replaced the lambda still had same code and very high emissions so Renault fitted another lambda for us free of charge... Still same high emissions and code.

They have now replaced the wire from the ECU to the sensor and they have informed us that it's still no good.

They have said the last option is the ECU.

Wondering if this sounds plausable? To be fair to Renault they have been helpful and ave quoted £650 for the ECU all fitted coded etc and including the wire they fitted earlier. Also throwing in a free MOT.

Id say the MAP sensor on the inlet manifold would be worth a check. Overfueling would be oxygen mix related which would come from this not the Lamda I would have thought?

I haven't. I've heard good things about them but they have never fallen at a time I can go. Plus I track day with a bunch of friends who have non Renault cars so I would be a bit billy no mates.

Yeah they are really good, very well organised and track etiquette is usually very good.

Yeah that's the only problem, Renault only. If you can make one in the future you should. I have always found the guys that go very friendly and welcoming. There's a good % of people that go every year with a mixture of new faces too.

Whereabouts in the country are you?

Kent.

I've also read the codes with my cheap OBD II cable and it only showed the same 2 codes. Renault said that's all that is showing on their machines too.

We''ve told them to go ahead with the work and they have assured us it will fix the problem. The only thing is where do we stand if it doesn't?

I'd be tempted to try a Renault Specialist instead.

There is Ren7oaks in Sevenoaks
Twotechs in Dartford

And highly regarded is Michael Woodford Motorsport in Staines

They do one at Brands which is only 30 miles from me. I might try and do that one next year.

I'm very tempted to reset my Bluefin and sell it on. How are you finding your car compared to how it was without the remap?

When I had my Trophy I used to go from Ashford to Two Techs in Dartford. They were excellent, so a massive thumbs up from me.

Had to really test the braking on the 182 today, NSL road (damp/greasy conditions) at 4am, half asleep, come around a bend at about 60 and there's a deer stood looking at me, not moving.

Stopped about 6ft short of it and it then trotted away like nothing had happened.

Knocking noise on my 182 has been getting worse, new dogbone didn't sort it, other mounts didn't seem too bad. So took the car to a specialist last week, result is needs a new diff. So i'm now without a car for the next 2.5 weeks and need to find £500-600.

Going for a second hand gearbox replacement and getting a new clutch while its off.

Also the Evol Dogbone mount is too stiff for my liking, little too much vibration at low speeds, so i've ordered a new renault one.

Only been a few days now without my car and already missing it. Really need to get a second car.

Got the car back on wednesday, gearbox replaced, new clutch, and dogbone mount. Drives much better than before. On inspection the clutch needed replacing anyway, so kind of hurts a little less paying £650 for the work.

Turns out the box had been leaking oil, only had 0.5l of oil in there when it was drained. 3rd gear crunched at high revs too, new box doesn't so pretty happy.

Also brought some powerflex exhaust hangers (went for EXH001 as they look a better solution) to rebuild my old ones that aren't going to last much longer, together with new manifold/cat fitting kit and cat to exhaust clamp.

Also need to sort out a bad earth to the rear lights as indicators/brake lights are playing up and fog light comes on on the dash.

Hopefully it'll be ready for its mot next month then.

The gearboxes are well known for leaking out the selector and there is a kit available just to fix this.

I'm hoping to prep mine for an mot tomorrow. Spent a long time removing last weekend trying to remove the industrial tape on my 3/4 plate. Finally got the original back on, with velcro for ease this time!

Going to remove the windscreen washers as they are dribbly and pointless and fix my passenger seat sliding issue with a new rail. Going to be fun!

Going to use these as I think they look more discreet than the cup blanks, and only £1.50.
