Who here owns a Renaultsport?

Went and bought my self a Clio 182 last night to (possibly) use for track days as I'm far too much of a wimp to take my 200 on the track.

Full service history. Serviced EVERY 12k or less, every MOT and stacks and stacks of receipts for springs etc etc
Cambelt / Aux and Water Pump done Feb' 2013.
Has a Scorpion RS192 and de-cat (even supplied me a cat to fit for MOT).
RSTuner Remap.
Hankook Evo V12's all around.
Just put 6 months TAX on it and it's MOT'd till June 2014.
Last MOT advisorys were front pads and discs (which have been done and are brand new) and rear discs pitted, but they look fine and it must have been a fussy tester.

Bad points are:
Right thumb grip worn.
Wheels need a refurb but can do this my self with the girlfriends dad. We did the girlfriends with rattle cans and got a surprisingly good finish.
Rear pads need doing which from looking on carparts4less will cost me a pricey sum of £14.
Cruise control doesn't work. Could be a faulty switch? Going to try my girlfriends working one in the car before I order.
Also the foglight illuminated on the dash when braking / indicating but fixed that with a bit of WD40 in 5min.

All of this cost me a grand total of...
£1250

Even if it breaks down or blows up I can break it for more than I paid.

O yeah and it's done 130k. Although it doesn't drive like it has.

Taken the cruise control switch out and 'bent' the V shaped spring back into shape so the button now stays depressed and I get the green cruise control icon on the dash.
I still seem to be unable to set a speed / speed limit. The + / - do nothing as does the O / R.
Could it possibly mean the brake / clutch pedal switches are knackered?

I'm not sure if its the issue, but if the car has just recently been remapped it can take a while for the cruise control to re-enable (you loose the "set" menu item).

I'm going to try taking the switches from the pedals from my gfs 182 which has fully working cruise to see if that fixes it.

bare in mind its done 130,000 miles
so the price is ok really, besides he's tracking it, so the mileage doesn't matter for him

looks clean for a 130K car, shame to track it, but bargain price for a track car

Everyone keeps saying that when I tell them I want to track it. I WANT A TRACK CAR GOD-DAMN IT, is my usual response. haha :)

Little update regarding the cruise.
Tried the sensor from my Gfs car and it still won't work.
Something that may be related though is an intermittent Serv + ESP light coming on. It only seems to happen when I'm driving on a dual carriageway for over a few min at speed.
Doing some reading it appears this could be the steering angle sensor or I'm hoping that its more to do with the fact my steering wheel isn't dead center when driving. It sits in between 5 to 10min past.
From Clio sport forums its been mentioned a few times that this means the car thinks its going to the right but the abs sensors disagree with wheel input and throw the error?
Going to remove the wheel at the weekend and get it central see if that helps.

So I'm looking to change my 200 to a 182 and pocket the change.

I currently own a December 2012 RenaultSport Clio 200 FF (no CUP chassis or spoiler), in Nimbus grey with Recaros, 8,000 miles on the clock with the 4+ package.

I've been offered £9,700 from the dealers but this sounds a bit low. WeBuyAnyCar have "offered", and yes I've intentionally used quotations marks there, an online quote of £10,700.00. I'm not sure how they could knock it down since it is actually mint throughout, but I know what they are like.

Would a private sale work better? I don't mind the hassle of going through the tyre kickers but obviously I want the sweet spot between sale value and an easy sale. I wasn't sure whether sticking it on PistonHeads would be a better bet or because it's only a year old, putting it on AutoTrader? Or both?

What's the full spec wingman, or are Recaros the only extra you spec'd? (ie: did you spec cornering headlights, rsmonitor, upgraded stereo, etc)

Its a buyers market currently and if your car has minimum spec I think you will struggle to shift it as it wont stand out from the others.

The car was pre-registered when I bought it from the dealer (it had delivery mileage on) so I was unable to spec anything. The only option was the Recaros unfortunately.

It certainly is a buyers market. However, one dealer has my car up for £12k with more miles and standard seats (although does have sat nav).

That's obviously not to say it will sell at that price. ..

Mine has the exact same problem, my cruise/limiter switch works fine. I tried new cruise buttons when I fitted my retrimmed wheel and it worked intermittently for a bit but since then doesn't respond. The previous owner tried the brake/clutch switches but no luck. I also get the Serv/ESP light after about 20-30 mins on the motorway. A local garage had a quick look but had no luck.

Be interesting to here what the fix is though :)

Mines up for sale now, 182 BG FF, Turini's, Miltek, DS2500's, retrimmed wheel etc etc. It'll be on PH shortly but is over in the sale section of CS.net at the moment.

Recently returned from a weeks holiday :p so don't want to post the link if it's not allowed!

It's good ol'd Renault electrics. It won't work regardless of what you do, try or replace. Then one day you'll climb into the car, turn it on and notice that there's no warning light and everything works perfectly and you'll be unsure how long it's been like that until a few days later it decides it doesn't want to work again. Electrics are one of the reasons I got rid of my Scenic and got the C-Max. It blew fuses because it felt like it.

I had a similar issue with the cruise/limiter and ESP light on my 182. Mine was the brake switch sensor, I bought a new one from renault, but didn't adjust it correctly so didn't work after fitting. Ended up getting a Renault specialist to sort it out for me when i had a brake caliper changed. But also the connections needed cleaning up on the steering wheel buttons and the switches.

I'm eye up a new set of wheels at the minute, pretty much decided on the wheels, but can't make my mind up on tyres. What's the best tyres in 195/50/15 at the minute for all year round Road use? PS3's?

degen that's a nice tree

Unfortunately it's the other halfs parents house and not mine, but yes I like trees too.

Had car aligned when I finished work and I don't know whether it's coincidence but the ESP + SERV light didn't come on when I was driving the 10 min on the dual carriage way.
Guy who did it said it was out by a huge amount. He had to get a blow torch on the adjustment nuts as they were so seized.

Cruise control still doesn't work :@
