Who here owns a Renaultsport?

If your OEM dog bone rubbers are worn just pop the bush out and rotate it 90 degrees, all the benefits of a solid mount but with no vibration! Pretty sure you can do this on the 172/182 if they use the same mount as the 16v and Williams.

The mounting hole was offset on my 182, so this wasn't possible. I did however try one of the Evol solid mounts with so called softer bushes and sleeves, it was dreadful and i ended up going back to a new oem mount after a few weeks.

I had a solid mount on my 16v, two eyelets and a thread. The vibrations were pretty terrible but made for an awesome gear change :D

I just put an original dog bone on my 172. Was second hand but sold as only doing 6k ish before removal.

And wow, so much better than my old one. Similar gear feel and opull off as the powerflex but no horrible added vibrations.

and all for £7 and 30 mins of my time fitting it haha

Try this again... just posted it in a 4 year old YouTube embed thread lol.

Little video of my £1200 130,000 mile 182 going round Lydden

Sorry about the wind noise

Only managed 1 session unfortunately as an injector decided to break during the second session, which was really annoying as the car was running brilliantly up to that.
Driving along in 3rd and heard a dull thud from the exhaust / engine area and the car completely lost power, it was completely flat. Had me worried until I plugged in a cheap OB2II reader and discovered it was a misfire on the cylinder.
Fitted a second hand injector rail / injectors and some new spark plugs and it's all running sweetly again. I guess these things are to be expected on a 130k car though. Still not too bad as its done 5 track days and it's the only thing that has broken.

Heh you'd think so wouldn't you but I suspect I've shot myself in the foot being too honest with my advert by admitting things like the noisey dephaser which all the other Trophys being sold will also suffer unless it specifically states otherwise.

It's been on eBay since the 12th without so much as a viewing yet so I reduced it by £250 this afternoon to the price you see now to hopefully tempt some interest.

Yeah dephaser pully is a cambelt and aux job as well and it's costly.

Has anyone changed the rear brakes themselves?

I beleive the pistons are 'twist' in, rather than push in? So no need for a clamp? Also need a 175nm on the bolt?

Nobody happens to have the guide kicking about do they?

Did the rear pads earlier this year, I ended up using a long thin file to twist the pistons in, as it fitted better than a screw driver.

Yup. But thankfully it doesnt do any harm it just gets louder as time goes on. The belts were last done in 2010 so its due them next year, i was planning on just living with it until then.

If I wasn't trying to buy a house I'd be all over that! Dammit.

Live in the Trophy, win win ;)

Were you at Oulton Park in August in this?

No I've never done Oulton and I havent done any trackdays in the Trophy yet. My first was going to be Llandow with the Cliosport.net lot as the smaller circuit suits the Clios but I never got around to it in the end.

Anybody want to buy my 182 Trophy? *shameless plug*

:D

So this STILL hasnt shifted almost a month later after me listing it, what am I doing wrong here? The way I see it I have the following options open to me:
- Relist
- Ditch eBay and use AutoTrader
- Spend more money sorting paintwork?

I've already dropped my price from £4250 initially to £4000, I cant really afford to go any lower without recouping some costs by maybe selling on the Brembo conversion seperately but I feel thats working in my favor currently?

Sigh.

How bad are the wheels? Your advert makes it sound like they are really bad and need refurbing immediately.

Maybe add some pics and mention they are scuffed/slighty kerbed/knackered/ covered in brake dust etc

From the pics thet look ok but have rusty pad material in the corners. have you tried Iron X on them?

Out of the three times I've listed a car on ebay not one of them sold on there or even came to view, just lots of questions and silly offers. They either sold on Piston Heads or an owners club.

Same here... I've never had any luck trying to sell via Ebay motors (everyone is just looking for a cheap bargain ... unless very lucky). Even with cars priced sensibly. Had loads of tyre kickers and silly offers... but never sold through this medium.

I think Autotrader is a bit better myself.

Though I would agree with Relentless81, that owners club WEB sites seem to be a better bet. But you do need to pitch the price right, especially at this time of year (IE. Christmas just round the corner).

If you get desperate enough, there is always sites like webuyanycar.com ... while I know some of these sites don't have a good rep. I managed to sell our 2nd car (Skoda Fabia) through them earlier in the year and got a half sensible price (IE. in line with trade-in price).

Good luck mate.
