Who here owns a Renaultsport?

That's not great then, what if your car is 5 years old but you've only covered say 60k? The belts need doing then but would they only quote you for a 60k service?

People forget the belt intervals are mileage or time based, whichever comes first.

It does explain on the Renault website that the services are just NAMED using their recomended milage interval, but you should select the appropriate service based on time and/or milage. I can book any service I like on my car.

Does beg the question why they dont just name them properly, but hey ho.

I think I have convinced myself enough, buying one within the next two month! :)

Are Turinis hard to get a hold of? They are far better looking than the fatter ones on the 182s.

getting some for my 172 soon, although will be used good condition ones as dont want to spend £600 on alloys which will not hold their value come to sale time.

check rimstyle, they were the cheapest brand new prices i have found £559 plus postage for silver or anthracite

I'll see him tomorrow so I'll find out more - probably southern tax added on

Car was serviced yesterday with C/belt change, only cost £450 in the end. I think he did it faster than expected.

The guy is setting up on his own in Newbury so probably hasn't done many outside the dealership since leaving Renault last year.

I see a few of you have de-cats on, do they add much power or just sound better?

Do they pass a MOT with them? Easy enough to swap round come MOT time?

apparently if you have an aftermarket exhaust then it will sound louder

they wont pass mot as they are illegal, well the emissions is illegal, and your insurance is void as you cant tell your insurance company that you have fitted one lol so its personal preference.

but i hear they add a little power but nothing to write home about

easier to fit on a 182, bit trickier on a 172

some people pay £100 to get these fitted and another £100 to take off at MOT time, £200 a year aint worth it for me.

not bad at all them mate, did he get the Auxiliary Belt Changed (Inc Tensioners) aswell? hope he did as you have to take them off for the cambelt so its always wise to replace this belt too.

They give a raspier sound to the exhaust and will make an aftermarket exhaust a good bit louder. I had one on for a about a month (only due to my cat breaking and having a decat lying around). It sounded nice with the standard exhaust, but it gives off a smell, as it is pretty much a straight through pipe.

Power wise it might add a couple of BHP over standard, as the standard cat on the 182 is 100 cell, so isn't exactly restrictive. I'd say it's more for the noise they give.

When I had my RS192 exhaust fitted I went back to the standard cat as the decat was a bit too loud for me plus I didn't like the smell it gave off. It's pretty easy to take on and off on a 182. I threw £20 to my local garage and they swapped it over for the cat, a 20 minute job at most. So come MOT time it should be fairly easy to change it over.

Do they pass an MOT with a sports cat, or they not worth the money?

Need to go stay at the parents sometime soon, more choice of cars. Can't believe there is none here for 100miles! :/

It will pass the MOT with a sports cat, but they aren't worth the money (around £250 for one) as the standard cat is technically one already. A decat is only around £70 for one, so I reckon that's why people go for it. Just whether or not you can be bothered with changing it over every time the MOT comes around.

I traveled 250 miles to get mine, there were a few closer but this one had everything I wanted, full fat 182, decent mileage and in perfect condition. I'm always willing to travel to get the car I want. Plus coming back with the 182 was great fun. Sticking to mainly country roads, took me longer but was worth it. I really miss it :( But practicality and comfort are my needs now, would definitely get another though once my funds are a bit better.

Also willing to travel a fair bit, if I can find one that just stands out.

The only thing I don't want is to travel that far, blowing £100 on petrol only for it to be a munter. Or thinking, because I've drivin this far I am buying it.

Still looking, going to phone a few dealers and hopefully get a few test drives.

Need 2 new tyre's for my 182 and cant make my mind up whether to go for GOODYEAR F1 GSD3 EAGLE, MICHELIN PILOT EXALTO 2 or YOKOHAMA PARADA

Currently got some Pirelli's which came with the car when i bought it and I now fancy something different. So looking for some advice on the above selections and what people think are good/bad etc....

Also what are delivery times like from CamSkill? If I order today will I receive in time for the weekend?

EDIT: prob worth adding I need these for everyday road use - M roads, A roads etc.

Im currently running F1 GSD3s on my 182, previously i'd run nothing but PE2s on it (these were designed for the car). Really only went for the GSD3s to try something different. I don't think you can go wrong with either. Can't comment on the Yokohamas.

Out of those 3 choices I go with PE2's. Were fantastic on mine. Expensive, but worth it. I wouldn't compare the paradas to the F1's or PE2's, although awesome in the dry, completely the opposite in the wet. The F1's are meant to be really good as well, they seem to be the 2 main choices for the 182's.
