Who here owns a Renaultsport?

They will not charge if its a warranty covered item that failed (5 years or 100K miles as long as the rear window warranty sticker is intact!). I think most likely its a sensor or heat related issue and clearing the ECU will fix it! They will charge to diagnose but if its under warranty I think they waive the charge so would not worry about it that's part of the cost of doing business so not something you need to pay for as they could see the dash warning message. What you might need to clear up with them is if you should drive the car as they might use it as an excuse to say you caused more damage driving with the injectors like that though....!! Right now your car is in limp mode that's why the dash is not fully available. Still think its just a caching software glitch like the one I had which said steering failure, brake failure please stop (all went away after the ECU r set & 10K miles later no issues apart from needing 4 new tyres & brakes being worn 40% due to so many miles in 6 months!

When I took mine in for its first service was chatting to the guys while I waited for hours & they have only seen 1 RS MK4 in all of UK with a serious issue (engine needed replacing under warranty as the RS factory technician put some parts deep inside the engine on the wrong way around! cost Renault a lot to fix that one!). Most of the issues are very minor its a pretty reliable stable car overall (apart from DESS battery charging issues! which now outside UK they have an updated ECU firmware so a normal battery can be used instead but they are not doing in the UK for now on Trophy's...!).

Yeah I'm hoping it's just a glitch. No real sign of an issue just randomly came up. We had just drove half an hour to my mum's place, normal.

Then when we went to leave, it came up. So we just headed home. Limp mode usually implies it doesn't go up to speed etc? I'd say it drove mostly like normal but didn't sound as beefy as normal :D

Will try the reset in morn and see.

I agree though I don't want to drive it until all is sorted so hopefully that's all it is

Ok! Don't want to speak too soon but doing the above method has cleared it and the car feel right again. I'll keep an eye on it and take it in if it pops up again but for now that's great, thanks for the tip

Indeed too hot to be out there today!

How many miles are you up to now then? ;)

I may need my first tyres soon. They did a health check when it went in for the hose recall and two of them were getting there. Not that low yet but soon

14.6K now & 4 new tyre last 3 weeks as well £1K alone for that .......petrol obviously is way more £££ ONLY ;) did about 600 miles this weekend :p

I just stuck with the stock S01 Potenza Bridgestone as its type approved for those & legendary grip not much point changing to anything else as a car like this with the suspension system it has is never going to produce much more than 10K miles per set! ;)

The wear happens mainly on the inner front tyre lip(s) its very hard to see without a vehicle ramp but yours must be close to the limit now I would get them checked as on mine it was impossible to see the wear until they put it on the ramp then obvious they had to be changed or the car off road until they were as worn down to the cords

Yeah I think I had a new pair (front or rear) on when we bought it but the others will be getting there.

During the health check it was around 4-5mm across areas of the tyre advised to change "soon"

Can get some good prices online for tyres and fitting these days.

Service in September too so getting to a costly period :(

The rears are always less wear due to front wheel drive you can get the front & rears swapped over (get them balanced at the same time) will buy you a few more months but then by the time they need changing it will be 4 tyres!

My next service in Nov-Dec is going to be costly as I will need new brake pads (something you have to buy not covered by the servicing plan) around £600 for those alone as special pads obviously on the RS! For £9 a month my servicing costs are very cheap (no labour charges for me) until you need consumables not covered by the warranty. This was so cheap because I bought the car new from Renault directly via Renault Finance so I get free services every 10K miles (that deal was ONLY for if you bought directly from them BTW!).

Ha mad. Good to have a plan in place though. I don't have a service plan on mine so it's just piecemeal at each interval

I've been having more thoughts of moving mine on.

I love it, don't get me wrong, but I literally drive 10 mins to and from work every day, and rarely get a chance to be in the car by myself otherwise (without the kids in tow) so I'm not really making the most of it Vs what it costs to upkeep and just on the PCP.

It's a tricky one. It's not about the actual cost, it's fine. It's more about it feels like it's wasted on me and my usage.

Use it more then dude! Take her for a long spin every few days to get your moneys worth...your not going to get anything more smiles per miles than one of these either!

:D it does have that ability.

£600 for pads though ha! Surely there's alternatives? I'm a ways off that hopefully at just shy of 11k right now

Honestly mate just drive it more in Race mode also!

Some ex-owner I know of spent upwards of £15K on his even though it was brand new...did a lot of great stuff to his....then got bored (or thought he did) & sold it at a steep loss for an Alpine....now he wishes he never sold the RS but too late he is stuck...be careful what you wish for! ;)

If you're paying £600 just for the pads from Renault then I suggest to try shopping around:

Replacing the pads on the Brembo calipers is as simple as it gets too. All you need to do it knock the 2 x retaining pins out so it's an easy DIY job, or minimal labour costs if you do need a garage to do it for you

Mine has to be done under warranty though as brand new car dude! All labour costs are free for first 4 years I only have to pay parts costs. Plus they will also flush & replace the brake fluids at the same time way easier for them to do on the vehicle lift than me!

Labour costs don't sound all that free of they're charging you £600 for pads that you can buy for less than £250!
What part of your warranty states that you have to use a main dealer for replacing consumables? I understand there may be a need to use OEM parts, but surely you can use anywhere to fit them?

Phew this has put my mind at ease :D

Megane Ultimate RS coming 2023 ;)

Price is going to be steep though rumoured to be €65506 due to new emissions charge tax in France!

Same engine as existing Sport 300 - Trophy 300 so just a rebadged-rebranded last of its line....still reckon it will sell out fast though!

Could be the last Renaultsport ever?
Yes it 100% will be until Renault change their CEO for someone who likes the brand...... but £58K (on current exchange rates) if it even comes to UK for just a Trophy 300 with same engine-gearbox as previous model. That's £20K more (than what a 2021 factory order would have been - 2022 UK could not order new anymore but they are still taking new factory orders in France & other EU countries next year) for the rebranding, hyper inflation & new petrol car tax they are hitting these with in France :(

The 4Control steering system & 200,000 RPM Ceramic Ball Bearing F1 derived turbo alone are worth buying new for if you do not already have one like I do :p

I have no doubt regardless of price these will sell out fast as last of its kind I.C.E Hot Hatch.......!
