Are the 182s quicker than the 172s?
according to Parkers, about .1 of a second ?

I second everything Richdog says.
40mph, 2nd gear, floor it....you'll shift at a fair rate of knots.
Parkers don't count.
I recently sold my AMG and bought a 52 plate 172 Cup. Will get some pictures up at some point, its great fun!

nice looking 172 m8
Phew... don't ask much do you?
A definite improvement if it's got the cup suspension.
Very quick for a non-turbo'd car... over taking is a breeze in 90% of situations.
As long as the engine is warmed up (at least 10 miles) it's VERY noticeable... in 2nd there's a real "oof" and this continues into 4th, losing grunt in 5th (though it still pulls well up to 110, I daren't go any faster on the motorway with all the cameras around, even when it's all but empty).
Noisy-ish, not the best and not the worst. 60-90 is quick (imo).
350Z is a completely diffferent car in every respect (especially costs)... different classes different costs.
The 182 is the finest all-round hatch I have ever driven... quick and economical (36mpg average, 40mpg+ motorway driving reasonably sensibly), and so far after 7 months of ownership I haven't had a single problem (though the ABS light comes on sometimes, turning the engine off and on clears it, french electrics). I love it to bits and if I had to do it all again I would without shadow of a doubt.
Just thought id say, put a deposit down on a 172 last night, quite excited.
Gonna miss 4WD though
I am having trouble finding a blue one for sale, (unless its the cup)
so i am looking for a blue one or a black one, 2002/3 model
