Who here owns a Renaultsport?

AMG to 172 bit of a change. Had a drive of the Wifes 172 at the weekend [can see why everybody raves about the handling]. Her's has been lowered and is on 16" OZ superleggaras and holds the road incredibly well.

Phew... don't ask much do you? :D

A definite improvement if it's got the cup suspension.

Very quick for a non-turbo'd car... over taking is a breeze in 90% of situations.

As long as the engine is warmed up (at least 10 miles) it's VERY noticeable... in 2nd there's a real "oof" and this continues into 4th, losing grunt in 5th (though it still pulls well up to 110, I daren't go any faster on the motorway with all the cameras around, even when it's all but empty).

Noisy-ish, not the best and not the worst. 60-90 is quick (imo).

350Z is a completely diffferent car in every respect (especially costs)... different classes different costs.

The 182 is the finest all-round hatch I have ever driven... quick and economical (36mpg average, 40mpg+ motorway driving reasonably sensibly), and so far after 7 months of ownership I haven't had a single problem (though the ABS light comes on sometimes, turning the engine off and on clears it, french electrics). I love it to bits and if I had to do it all again I would without shadow of a doubt. :)

Excellent, thanks very much for your responses. Looks like its a very strong possibility for me based on your answers. I think a test drive is needed!

I know the 350z is in a completely different league compared to the 182 but I don't think I really want to stomach the 350z's running costs particularly petrol. The Clio appeals to me as its much cheaper to buy, will probably be nearly as fun and I won't have to worry about fuel when I boot it! Cars are a hobby of mine but not such a big one that I am willing to spend £200 a month on fuel when the Clio will be £125-ish! /Cheapskate mode :)

Well its a 51plate I wanted one on an 02/03 really but I was pretty fussy that it had to be lowish mileage, under £4500, be completely standard, have aircon etc, had to be that nice dark blue aswell :p

Monaco Blue :D

It's pretty much mint, probably the best condition second hand car Ive ever seen.

Will be paying £4200.

Will post pics after I pick it up.

I am having trouble finding a blue one for sale, (unless its the cup)

so i am looking for a blue one or a black one, 2002/3 model

They only did Mondial Blue in the 172 Cup and 182's, so it'll have to be Monaco Blue (which is Navy).

IIRC Monaco and Flame Red were spec'd in the fewest numbers, which might explain why you can't find one ;)

Keep at it, they are about though.
