Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I FINALLY have a set of Trophy Turinis for my Arctic 182. They went on today and I love them :) Too dark for pictures right now though.

I just need to replace two missing centre caps. I've also got new brake discs to fit all round, and I'd like to paint my brake callipers as they're looking worse for wear, and are more on show now that I have Turinis. I'd love to do them red, but everyone over at ClioSport.net seems to say either Silver or Black, seeing as they're not exactly callipers to shout about.

Please excuse the terrible photo. Digital zoom on a mobile is not good!!

They look better in person.

Looks very nice. My cars exactly the same as yours and I couldn't decide whether to do the same to mine.

How much were they, if you don't mind me asking? Also what size are the tyres?

I wasn't sure either, but now I have them on I am really chuffed :)

I traded my five anthracite 182 wheels (4 Michelin PE2s, and one with a flat tyre) and paid £100 as well which I think is a fairly good deal. I probably could have sold my five wheels for around £200-300, but would have had the hassle of having no wheels until I bought some Turinis, so this deal worked perfectly for me :)

perfect :)

are they 16's or 17's?

They're 16's. I'm contemplating whether the car needs to be slightly lower. Although these are the same size as the standard 182 wheels, they LOOK smaller (therefore bigger arch gaps) due to the design I think.

Thats a bargain! Was that from a retailer or a private sale?

Looks lovely :)

Just need to get rid of the chavvy tints, no offence :) They look bad, maybe its the light and camera? Some light tints would be better.

Are the wheels much lighter?

The 172 Cup would be the better toy! It has no comfort features like ABS, Traction Control, Climate AC etc, so is the hardcore RenaultSport. It has much better suspension but this comes at quite a cost if it breaks, the suspension in th Cups cost a lot to fix!

If its a toy or a second car to track etc, then the 172 Cup is the one to get. For an everyday car and some B road blasting the 182FF will tick all the correct boxes.

Hope that helps somewhat :)

I think you're meaning the 182 Trophy with regards to the different suspension, theres nothing particulary special with regards to the suspension set up in the 172 Cup over the 182. Its lacking ABS/TC a few creature comforts and is therefor a bit lighter. The Trophy is probably the pick of the 1*2 range although a 182 with Cup packs is probably a better day to day car.

Cool, as the 172 cup is also a fair bit cheaper.

I only do about 4-6k a year with the odd 200miler. So nothing too extreme, I couldn't live without. Only asking as I have been offered a mint 172 cup.

Not having ABS is a bit of a bitch though. I found this out as a passenger in my mates old 172 Cup, on wet leaves.....

The brakes in general on it were pretty awful to be honest, he always had to brake earlier than me in a standard CTR.

Fun cars though.

Ooops sorry was getting mixed up with the Trophy :o

Just wait out for a mint 182FF, it has all the toys xeons, cruise, climate control and ESP and ABS and AC auto wipers etc etc... A much much better everyday car! :)

Private sale on ClioSport.net. He was a really nice guy, which was nice as my girlfriend was worried I was going to be bum raped.

The tints are a funny one. The car came with them on, and I was definitely going to remove them. Then over time I grew to like them. Then hate them. Then like them. I hate the 'image' they carry, but then I'm driving a sporty Clio, so some tints isn't going to make that much more difference.

The photos above they do look particularly bad because of the light, they look alright in person. The trouble is I think they've been done professionally as they're done really well (must have cost someone a lot), so I figure if I remove them and then wished I kept them, I would regret it.

SS, you have to bring the 182 to a southern meet this year!

Very random indeed, I was wondering if any meets go on in the South. Is there one coming up?
