Who here owns a Renaultsport?

I have done the exact same! Best improvement was putting Focal components in and a new HU! Massive difference in sound!

I need 1 new thumb grip mind, my steering wheel has the melting effect :(

I personally have always liked the 'heavy' feeling clutch that Renault seem to use, my 19 and Clio both had solid feeling clutches.

Same for the power steering, just the right amount of assistance without ruining the feel.

Not a fan of feather light steering and clutches.

Kind if wish I still had my 172.

I love the hard clutch in my 172, providing I dont drive other cars much. When you get used to a light clutch (my sisters 1.4 Fiesta, for example) going back to the 172 means stalls ahoy for a little bit!

As for steering wheels Squirrel, I got mine from this guy and its absolutely awesome! Got a grey leather ring around the top of the wheel as well (theres a pic of a guy with a red one in that thread I think). Well worth the money.

Any chance of posting some of the details in this thread? My subscription to Clio Sport ran out a while back:(

If you're a paid (£12 a year) member of ClioSport.net you get a 20% discount with Sky Insurance, worth giving them a call http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/

Sky wouldn't insure me as I had no previous experience driving a car of similar power. I had 4 years NCB though. They said they'd have been quite competative in regards to Flux though.

Worth giving Flux a call whoever it was that's looking for insurance.

I've just renewed mine today with sky starting at the end of the month. I got my renewal through from Adrian Flux yesterday and they wanted £984!

Sky got it down to £691 for me which is a good deal less than all od the other places I tried!

Thats at 25 with 7 years NCB and a non fault claim (which still affects my premium for some reason!)

I'm getting de-tinted on Monday to try and lessen the chav look. Although I'm not 100% sure I want to, but for the purposes of resale value in the future, and also not looking like a bell end, I think I should. I would remove them myself but I know I'd mess it up!

So I just finished my test drive in a lovely 182. First impressions are good, one thing that surprised me was that it seemed quite a bit more hardcore than the r27. The suspension was a lot stiffer and it didn't feel as solid on the road. Clutch is hard as nails, reminds me of the s2000, is that normal? Also the powersteering was still fairly heavy, is that right too? Haggled 500 off so £4500. It had a cambelt and FS less than 1k miles ago and it's on 45k. Seem like a good deal?

Managed to knock it down a bit more today to £4300, and got a new MOT (it was going to run out in may) on it aswell. Just got to wait a couple more weeks and then i can pick it up :D Super excited :D

Looks such an underated car the 172!!! Bet it shocks a few people? :D!!

The 182 is a little more show off what with the twin exhaust and gray wheels!

£2000 for that performance and fun is amazing :)

what was attracted me to it, it's very subtle. :) can easily get it to the 182 bhp if you really wanted, although i'm mr standard. :P

Ha I see the appeal too :) Cracking colour too! Does yours have AC?

Mine is running around 190-195. Not many make book figures I think the last RR I went to at RS tuning most standard 182s were making 168-175, and the 172s a little less. So the performace is just about the same standard between the 1*2s. And for the money you paid is amazing!

Any plans to mod the car?

yeah they came with climate as standard.

is yours the white one? think i commented on it before as to how much i loved it! or the green one? i can't remember.

i wasnt really planning any mods, was looking a little into an exhaust, think they so nice standard! visually they are very nice, would be nice to do a few very small things to the engine, but not sure.

What does the term 'shed' mean?
