Who here owns a Subaru?

Are these JDM 2.0 Cross Sports Foresters SG5 any good? They seem to have better styling than our Foresters but know nothing about them, recently discovered a dealer that seem to sell a lot of Foresters in my local area so quite tempted to go have a gander.

Funnily enough, I was looking at one of those yesterday. Strikes me as a bit of a sweet spot in the line-up - most of the fun, none of the 2.5-related trials and tribulations (not to say it's bad, per se, just that a 2.5's favourite joke does seem to be knock knock).

In what sense? Because they are tuned for 100RON fuel?

Would only need to change the ignition tables so a few minutes to read the ECU, little fiddling of tables and 10 minutes to flash back

I've been told they run fine as long as a good fuel is used....but yeah pretty much what you said.

Also does anyone know a good import insurance broker?

Mine was good until it was stolen... The auto box is a bit meh but they look good and sound just as they should. Looking to jump into a FSTI but insurance is a nightmare

You'd probably be fine with Vpower, OEM tunes are usually conservative enough anyway. You only need a Tactrix cable at ~£200 to make the changes (Or if you were local enough I can do it)

Greenlight are really competitive for me (Not a Subaru) and my dad in his STI

Oh really? I was told that the JAP ECU was a nightmare and nothing will communicate with it here in the UK LOL!

Well after taking everyone's advice on how the 2.5 is utter trash swapped it for this superior beast.

I'd probably be looking at a manual, I think they look much better than our XT cars, it's only down by like 10 hp? but dare say they tune just as good as the regular cars and with it being the 2L it doesn't have the "exploding" attributes of the 2.5L you tend to hear about.

Did you mod yours at all? running costs and all that jazz?

For someone who can't afford the premium of an FSTI they're quite appealing and there's some sort of specialist 5 mins away in my town that seem to have a load of them.

Got my car back, had a small problem with it, garage said they had never come across the issue and mine must have been a first. Something about ringlands whatever that means :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:
