Who here owns a Subaru?

Yeah I know James.

Price is high, but it is low mileage and has some decent mods.

I've not actually seen the car in the flesh unfortunately, although I'm sure plenty of people did when it was on display for Opies Oils at Japfest...

Anyway, a video from my visit to Curborough last week (not me driving - I was merely a spectator on the day)

Made a difficult decision tonight, I'm going for neither car. Neither have that 10/10 feeling for me and I'm going to be patient. Either car is big money and I cant afford any regrets. As much as I just want to jump in feet first, once the novelty wears off I'm left with a car I've paid too much for and will resent.

The wait continues. Go me, for being mature :D

How common are engine failure/replacement on the hawk eye wrx s? Seen a few recently that have had rebuilds or replacement at seemingly low miles (around 65-75k) and not sure if it means not to bother or whether its common enough...

Love this, theres something about it. Blacked headlights and well detailed. Maybe the intercooler and lower bumper (what is it?) gives it that more aggressive look.

2003 @ £11K

Making me want a blue one more than black now. Market still terribly slow :(

The WRX 2.5s seem to be more reliable than the STi 2.5s, but still not regarded as a very reliable engine like the 2.0s of old.

However, regular maintenance, checking of coolant and oil, and you should be ok with a well maintained example.

It's a WRC style bumper for the STi, I know HTAutos does a version of it.

Like the blue but once you go black!

Progress Update: No progress to report

Actually thats a small lie, was almost ready to leave a deposit and go collect the below next weekend, but there was a few little niggles that ultimately put me off and felt I was buying it just becuase it was the only one for sale recently, so pulled out and don't regret it. The chap ended up selling it back to Jperformance so no doubt it will resurface soon for sale with another £2K stuck on top.

I did however speak to a chap the other weekend who may be selling his soon, just sent him another email this morning to ask on if he is still selling and when. Only problem is he is in the East End of London, I've only ever been to London once and the whole place is alien to me as a Northern monkey. However I'm sure I can find a way to get to the East End if the car is worth it. Presuming I can get in to Kings Cross (direct train from my home town) then somehow get a tube.

Nice looking car with only ~30,000 miles. Comes with a Blitz Nur Spec too :p

My mate is considering selling his 2004 STI in Silver based in Manchester, he's in two minds at the moment but is anyone interested in further details? Its been a weekend car for over two years

Hutchy just make sure the mileage is genuine on the blue blob. East end of london + Subaru + thinking asian owner = sometimes not legit. Just word of advice, go in with eyes open.

Take someone with you who knows Subarus. Oh and don't take the full amount, and when you do, also take someone.
