I haven't been on the single player since the 360 so it might have changed on there as well.

If I were you I'd select passive mode until you get more used to the "see someone, kill them" landscape!
Can anyone give me any pointers with regards to the heists? I've got myself a high-end apartment but not hosted any heists yet but I did jump in with someone else to do the "intro" Fleeca Job heist.
All we had to do was go to see Lester, pick up the armored car, got to the bank, drill the box and scarper - while online it mentions having to first steal the armored car from a gang and also "scout" the bank (?) - does anyone know why my experience missed these parts out?
I also got a lot more cash that I thought I would - it said my portion of the take would be $46,000 but when we finished (after a couple of stupid mistakes that cost us a couple of re-starts!) I got something like $11,000 but then got some rather odd bonuses that I couldn't quite follow and I ended up banking around $164,000!!!
I'm not complaining but on the other hand I'm not entirely sure why I got this much!?!?!?

There are two parts to the heist, there are the setup missions, and the heist itself. Somebody needs to host the heist, this person pays an upfront cost to avoid people being able to replay it too much. Once this person starts they need to complete several setup missions before they are allowed to proceed onto the final heist.
It sounds like because you weren't hosting, you joined somebody else's final heist mission, having missed the setup mission where you scout the bank beforehand. Thats the thing about joining other peoples games - you can join any setup or any heist completely out of order and miss out on A) the fun and B) The $1,000,000 bonus for doing them all in order I suggest you host the fleeca job yourself, and do the setup mission and do the heist again. Then do all the others. You've not too far along to make starting again a problem.
The reason your payout was so high is because there is a one time first completion bonus you get when you complete the mission the first time. This makes it lucrative the first time, but ensures if you go back and replay them again they aren't as lucrative. This bonus doesn't appear on the payout screen where it calculates your share. If you go back and do the fleeca job again to do it all in order, you'll only get the $46,000 second time round.

So just to be clear, I've not screwed up the potential $1m bonus for completing them all in order? (the only reason I joined this one was because I knew it was the first one!)

No, even if you have done them all you can go back and start from the beginning to do them in order for the bonus.

I still need to do the heists in order (I too did them out of order not realizing) and I also need to get the other £1,000,000 bonus for doing them all with the same people.

I'd love to join in but I'm on the PS4!
Could really do with some reliable people on my crew to get these heists done - so far all I've had are complete idiots that get themselves killed by doing stupid things - and that's when I actually get other people to join and stay (which is by no means a quick job!)

Started online a few days ago and am at level 11. However, i have done a few missions/heists with randoms and they either keep getting killed or once the mission is over trying to kill each other to either be ***** or to rob cash
Anyway, if you want a rookie teammate i could do with some help on completing the heists.
