Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

Just had another look around, one of my jackings point covers survived, but looks like they tried to pull the st220 badge off :s

Oh and to top it off my engine warning light is on

Did someone key it Phil? Sucks that someone would damage a car like that. :(

Thought i would add up how much i've spent on my St since i got it 16 months ago. £2,230 on servicing, tyres and repairs.

That's a big amount  what repairs have u had? Didn't think the 220 could throw up any big bills apart from clutch and gearbox. I only spent a couple hundred on mine in the year I owned it compared to the 1k in 4 months on my Focus.

Hi tummely, fortunatly they didn't key it,

Wow £2200 on repairs?.

In my 2 years outside of tyres, brake pads and servicing.

A snapped aux belt (ford probe part fits if you ever need one)
A broken spring
One of the flexi exhausts went.

Repairs, erm suppose suspension was a repair as the rear coil snapped so cost me £200 for eibachs+fitting

Breather hose 30somet quid

Catalytic coverter was £120 I think

Servicing is around £100 a pop and I've done about 4-5 of them.

Wheels refurbished was either 230 or 330 can't remember

All new disks n pads was about £160-200

Tyres £500... Luckily only had to buy 1 lot as the previous owner put brand new P Zeros on when he sold me the car.

Spent money on mods to.

Cheap as chips motoring. Been a pleasure to own, had it around 4 years I think. Best car I have had and i know I'll miss the thing.

i have no idea what to move onto when the time comes.

I really like the idea of a vxr8, or even a rs4, but those are thoughts for long into the future haha.

The ST220 is irreplaceable at the 3k ish price point. I got 2.6k for selling mine 4 months ago and had 6k to spend and all I could find that I thought would put more of a smile on my face was a ST Focus and it's been a disappointment.
There's just no proper engines in newer big cars like the 3.0 V6 in the 220. There all tractor engines :(

I'm in the same boat. Mine was written off about 5 months ago and I've still no idea what to replace it with. I'm driving around in my wife's 2.0l Mazda 3 Sport currently which is a depressing downgrade. I think I'd feel the same about most 2.0l NA cars now.

If I can pick up another ST220 as good as the one I had and in the right colour combo (performance blue / ivory) for about £3k then I'd jump on it I think but in the past 5 months only one cropped up near me and it was double that price.

I'm also considering 650i and Z4 Sport Coupes and the CLS500. Trying to keep the budget around £8k which is doable for the CLS500 but more difficult for the other two. Haven't had the time to test drive anything yet so not sure what I'd prefer.

Thankfully the previous owner had the clutch, DMF and slave cylinder replaced before me. But I've had done:

2 services, new tyres, gearbox oil replaced, fuel filter, idle air control valve, reverse switch, PCV hose, breather hose, xenon levelling system broke so needed new bits for that, new battery, new wheel bearing, heatshield underneath needing fixed twice (blame terrible roads around here), fuel lines and brake pipes, new handbrake cables, new struts for the boot and blowing exhaust at the front repaired.

Sure I'm forgetting some stuff but that's enough to be getting on with. :p

Mines going for its MOT today so we will see how much that's gunna cost. Never had even a advisory on her up to yet.

That might change today.

My car will be getting replaced soon. Sent off to retain my plate yesterday. So it happening.

What are you going for? It's something I've thought about before but for me there is nothing to replace it similar unless you spend £6k+.

A mondeo st is a very hard car to replace. They're great value for money. Mines gone after a year of doing f all. I wish I had fixed it but I would have ended up spending more on it then I would like to. I should have done though as i wouldn't have lost it on that ep3 I bought.

Passed with no advisories. Never even had an advisory with this car in the 4 MOT's i have took it for. Been such an awesome car in every way.

What are peoples thoughts about spending up to £14k on a 2011 ish fully loaded 2.2 titanium x mondeo?

Been thinking all day and tempted to change my 56 plate A4. If you check auto trader there is an estate on there with rear head rest dvd players.

Enjoy it! Awesome car (except for those horrendous lights and those things on top of the front lights, o and the wind deflectors :p).
