Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

My favourite Mondeo colour by a country mile is the Infra Red colour which was unfortunately only available on prefacelift ones :(

ECC?

Cruise is standard.

Boot is huge. Big enough for any regular family needs. It has an onboard computer but it's quite basic, it tells you average speed, outside temp, miles to empty and average MPG.

It's slightly limited to protect the drivetrain. You won't really notice it. Mine certainly takes off in 1st and 2nd if I bury my foot

I get about 15-17k from my front tyres. A fair bit more from the rears. Using Conti SC5s all round and although I never nail it from a standstill - I don't see the point in doing that - I can take off pretty briskly and hoon it through 1st and 2nd without any dramas. I've never had any breaking of traction once on the move in the dry (or even in the wet that I can recall) unless I shift particularly brutally from 1st to 2nd. It's just not a powerful enough engine for those short of shenanigans really. It's a great chassis, very balanced. Obviously you will have limitations because of what it is, but for what it is, it drives brilliantly IMHO.

Rybo come to the RR and I'll show you what it can do if you like (if that's not too far into the future of course)

I am indeed :) I'm only spectating though as I've run before. Gibbo doesn't seem fussed about updating the spectator list :p

That one is missing a jacking point cover and, I dunno, just has a bit of an air of scruffiness about it, to me. And I don't like those shadow chrome wheels :(

Things to look out for are generally knocking from the rear which is likely to be subframe bushes, or ARB drop links. There isn't much else other than the usual stuff. Make sure it's been serviced properly and on time, they like fresh oil.

If it was immaculate then the price isn't that unreasonable, but something about it doesn't seem right to me

I average 26mpg to work and back which is a mixture of town and motorway. Can get 35-37 on a run at 70. It's quite tyre pressure sensitive.

I think once you've got over the lack of non linear turbo charged shove you'll find the performance quite adequate :)

If there isn't much traffic on your route to work you should see 30+

I love driving mine and the engine makes commuting effortless at lower rpms in higher gears for more economical driving and I'm really pleased with how good I've managed to get the stereo to sound, and the heated seats are awesomely comfortable in the winter :)

Haha, I've seen worse :o

That's awesome. I want it. If it was nearer 5k I'd say being in mint condition woulda make it worth it but 6k is a fair bit too much for an 04 I think. Annoyingly. Mines worth sod all :(
