Who really uses more than 320GB

I have a 250GB and a 80GB hdd, so 330Gibs total. 80GB is full (as of last week, had to delete loads of pictures etc.) My 250GB has 20GibiB of data on there of free ware. I can see me filling it up at some point.

pretty full up right now too, plus I had a 160GB drive die on me a while back.

Lol, I've got 1 x 160 GB, 1 x 250Gb, and 1 x 300 GB.

All my music and media is on my 250 and 300 GB hard drives. All my apps and games on my 160GB HDD.

problem with big drives is the time to format the damn things
so happy to use small fast hdds for windows

A friend i know uses 3 Terrabytes for JUST MUSIC he uses a futher 2 Terrabytes for backing up dvd's

He is however a DJ

Just as an example, the FS terramesh installed takes up nearly 30gb, & there's also around 20gigs worth of just custom scenery (Things like the UK photoscenery). Add onto that the amount of planes etc. floating around & the fact that I use the correct custom sounds/ cockpits wherever possible, and the total mounts up frightingly fast

I could probably fill 400gb with them if I really wanted

i have a 160gb samsung sata. On the edge of its capacity, using about 130gb, never gone over 140 though...

and i have films/music/games/windows/apps and a tonne of photoshop work

I have 2 *250gb. Using hardly any as reinstalled XP.

I was thinking that too.

I have a couple of 80GB drives, one for windows and one for pretty much everything else. Got plenty of space left. But then I'm not the president of a movie studio so I'm not allowed to store films on my hard drive.

It allows windows to access the parts its needs, independantly of any programs/films/games etc accessing any drives. It also means that if windows really nacks up, I can unplug all the other drives, and do whatever I want to the windows drive without fear of accidentally deleting the wrong partition etc.

I don't use that much really, I've got a 74GB Raptor for windows and games and a 80GB barracuda for music and programs. Never usually use more than half of each.

i am sitting here wondering if people who buy these huge hdd's (320GB etc) really use them. I dont know anyone (including me) who has ever used more than 60GB and if you put hundreds of pics etc on your comp then wont it slow it down loads?????

Windows Hard Drive: 40/70GB Free...Have XP + Office a few utlities and 6 Games Installed as well as my whole Music Collection..not bad huh?.., don't really need bigger than that, well no body does unless you installing loads of games, and a 150GB Raptor will be fine for that, to be honest anyone going over 150GB is just crazy....

Hard Drive 2: 271/371GB Free, hmm.. to much free space, use this drive for backing up data, storing downloads, and HD Video, also plan on using it for Video Capture later on..

Hard Drive 3: 231/232GB Free, this drive is for storing Recorded TV form MCE, I know not got anything on there yet as waiting for new TV Aerial but this will soon fill up...reason I got this drive instead of using 2ND drive for storage of TV is that I will be writitng to both drives at the same time, as in one for capturing TV while the other for capturing video....so I have my reasons...

I never did have much storage til about 2 years ago, i use it these days for storing my CD collection on, as well as my DVDs. I like to watch them on the computer, as i spend so much more time on this!

I have 3 PCs that i use for storage and backup, ive lost too much stuff in the past, so i will always have at least 1 backup copy of stuff.

Im am also trying to buy an extra 400gb HDD from these very forums, it will be an external HDD for off site storage for stuff i really cant afford to lose!
